Well because of Demon Souls and Fable we all know MP can be done well on an RPG and it's really what made me play DS so long. How many would be oposed to MP on ME 3, Dragon age 2 and Skyrim?

MP on Mass effect 3 might be difficult because of the shear mechanics and time slowing abilitys, but I see no reason not to add MP to Skyrim or DA 2 especially Skyrim DAO was meh.... and I might not pick it up.

For Skyrim tho they should definitely have MP they could do somthing like Two Worlds 2 except you know do it good.

skyrim is a complete open world so if u could have some sort of co-op were u and ur friend r both in the same world and could do quest indiviual or toggether in this worl and buy houses in the same game world it would be awsome

I'd go with 'None of the Above'.

Slashkice

This. There's more than enough great multiplayer games out there these days, why would you want to potentially ruin a few of the remaining single player only games by tacking on a shoddy multiplayer component.

Bethesda, or more specifcally Todd Howard, said year ago that The Elder Scrolls would always be SP, no multiplayer or MMO stuff will ever happen. Besides, there are mods that allow multiplayer from what I hear.

I'd rather they kept multiplayer out og these games, it's not needed and could make the rest of the game worse.

how about you add to the poll - "none of the above, people that want multiplayer in games that do fine without it are ruining gaming" if you want multiplayer in your RPGs play some World of Warcraft

I'll take multiplayer in the form of Demon's Souls. For the longest time, people have feared multiplayer invading their favorite single-player games, but DS sidestepped everyone and integrated the multiplayer right into the SP experience. I'd like to see more games take this approach.

I would vote none of the above, multiplayer based games usually lack great sp, unless it did not feel like an afterthought but only for Elder Scrolls. The other two games incorporate pause play which would be annoying for multiplayer.

None, there's no need for tacked on multiplayer for the sake of multiplayer. There's always Diablo if you're feeling a craving for RPG multiplayer.

Multiplayer might work well in ME3, but I'd rather them just invest all their resources in the single player campaign.

Simply don't play the multiplayer aspect of the game problem solved. No one said you had to go online and play with your friends thats always been a choice. If you only want a single player only experience no ones stopping you.

Games have become too multiplayer focussed recently. The genres that work well with multiplayer ie. Shooters, sports games etc. should stick to that while games that generally don't suit such as RPG's should stick to single player.

If you mean multiplayer like in demons souls, integrated into the single player, I don't think I'd like to see other galaxy saviors, Shepards running around me. A total immersion breaker. Only because it works on demons souls doesn't mean it can work in every other game.

Although it may work in Skyrim. Elder scrolls games have always been about you making your own story so playing with others would be kinda fun actually.

NO NO NO NO NO. It's impossible to add multiplayer to a game without it impacting single player. Resources used on the multiplayer side take away from the single player resources. Now if you want to make a new ip based around it, fine, but on an existing game? No way in hell.

Competitive multiplayer? None of them. Demon's Souls-style co-op could work though, maybe.

All would suffer from multiplayer.

ME3: Would suffer the least. However the multiplayer would also not be necessary either. Just a waste of resources. Mass Effect 1+2's AI was horrible and having a player play as a companion might make it the experience somewhat. Still, a waste of resources overall.
ESV: At this time, I would rather have them fix everything that worries me right now about Skyrim (and that is a long list), than to tack on some multiplayer that will probably be abandoned after a month, since the PC versions are so heavily modding dephendant that will cause a lot of problems for PC users. Also you are the LAST Dragonborn, there are no other dragonborns on the story. Waste of resources and goes against the design in the series.
DA2: Baldur's Gate series and Neverwinter Nights had multiplayer. I recall DAO was going to have it as well, but the devs scrapped that later on... I wonder why.

I thought the multiplayer components in Demons Souls were horrible and after I while, I plugged off internet connection whenever I would play DS.

None. RPGs should never have multiplayer.

brickdoctor

You do realize that the first (and some of the best) Roleplaying Games were built around playing with other people.

But the resources that are used to make the multiplayer are taking away from the single player, which would make it a worse game possibly.

I think multiplayer in Skyrim would make it more of an mmorpg.

Multiplayer in mass effect would be just like a third person shooter competitive multiplayer I think.

But you already have a ton of online RPGs, so SP people need their games too.

None, adding multiplayer just means the singleplayer gets less attention. That or the release date increases.
