None of them need MP, the MP would probably be terrible anyways; though co-op play in Skyrim sounds like a pretty good idea to me.

Similar to Red Dead Redemption's free Roam. Anything other then that (Like a deathatch mode) would fail.skyrim is a complete open world so if u could have some sort of co-op were u and ur friend r both in the same world and could do quest indiviual or toggether in this worl and buy houses in the same game world it would be awsome

Before anyone answers, I like to remind everyone that at a time All Bioware games where multiplayer. The Baldur's Gate series you can play a campaign with your friend and do pvp matches with them. That and many other crpg started the ground work for all mmorpg with out the mmo part and the monthly fees.
Bioware even made a multiplayer centric game as well, Neverwinter nights. Itis not only game made for multiplayer but also is a game made for players to make their own campaigns. I isD&D in total in a video game.
Bioware was not the only one. Multiplayer rpg makers included black island studios, blizzard, and bethesda.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/An_Elder_Scrolls_Legend:_Battlespire
The reason why most of these devs no longer make multiplayer game is due to the higher demand for fine tuning their games. As you all well know Bioware stop with the multiplayer give them selves more time to fine tune their graphics, andbethesda put everything into far expanding worlds. Blizzard stuck to it and making a killing in it monthly, which both bioware and bethesda see and starting to get into themselves. Which brings another point that if they do add multiplayer to their rpg, it best to enjoy them now them now when their free then later with a monthly charge.
The reason why most people are ageists multiplayer in rpgs is that they are sick of muliplayer... It's everywhere and brings the worst people with it. It also reduce the quality of single player as well. The most popularmultiplayer game nowright now has a 4-6 hour single player game play with the most shallow multiplayer ever that's all about grinding. If many say no multiplayer in their rpgs, I would understand why they would feel that way. But that's the thing, this is with shooter crowd. In all truth we seen every type of shooter on the planet, every type of ballistic combat in video game and in truth we are bored of it. Wouldn't it be better to try something new? One of the most refreshing muliplayer game this gen is a rpg on a system. It test are might, and it steeled are will and it was a rpg and your saying you don't want any you else to try the samething. Imagine doing an assassin mission with a friend in an Elder Scroll game, or fighting fighting a high Dragon with your mates in DA, or fighting hoards of husk and collectors with custom made characters, who are not asuped up undead cyborgs, left 4 dead ****in ME3.
The pint is that it would be great for them to try.....again......to do this. They done it before and why not let them before they try to take on the WOW monster. The they can make great single player games and done both in the past. Why not want to let them do it now?

Mass Effect? Lolno
Dragon Age? How would that work?
Elder Scrolls? It's bound to happen sooner or later, and the games just keep getting worse. So yeah, **** it, throw in some multiplayer.
I'll take multiplayer in the form of Demon's Souls. For the longest time, people have feared multiplayer invading their favorite single-player games, but DS sidestepped everyone and integrated the multiplayer right into the SP experience. I'd like to see more games take this approach.Mrmccormoand the multiplayer in rpgs on the ds completely and utterlly blows. Dragon quest 9 was quite literally an ******** of a game with very little worthwhile single player it was built around its multiplayer which outside of japan was impossible to even take part in unless you specifically got friends to buy the game and you all hooked up. I've not seen a single rpg on the DS that had multiplayer that wasn't hurt by it.

What part of Demons Souls did you not read in his post?
Simply don't play the multiplayer aspect of the game problem solved. No one said you had to go online and play with your friends thats always been a choice. If you only want a single player only experience no ones stopping you. But the resources that are used to make the multiplayer are taking away from the single player, which would make it a worse game possibly. Unless the publisher gives more resources to the developer in the hopes that a multi-player component would equal out to much greater sales... That is the case after all, they don't just throw single player guys at a multi-player component. That's illogical, hence why you constantly see studios hiring huge groups of multi-player designers.[QUOTE="Shielder7"]
[QUOTE="Allicrombie"]Hell no. I'm sick of developers tacking on multiplayer to what should be single player only experiences. soulitane
The only carry-overs and shared assets would likely be art, which could be done similar to Halo Reach, or done during the downtime that artists often have during development. Hell, the publisher might even outsource that kind of thing...
[QUOTE="max-Emadness"]i want co-op for mass effect 3 and elder scrolls 5Shielder7I can't reall see a reason not to have co-op possibility for elder scrolls 5.
4 reasons, from the top of my head
Whats with the thing that RPG's need multiplayer? Thats what a MMO like world of warcraft or to a lesser extent guild wars is for. Dragon Age, Skyrim or Mass Effect do not need multiplayer. It would also bring down the single player a bit too. Its just a stupid idea.
I can't reall see a reason not to have co-op possibility for elder scrolls 5.[QUOTE="Shielder7"][QUOTE="max-Emadness"]i want co-op for mass effect 3 and elder scrolls 5Maroxad
4 reasons, from the top of my head
1. could do an arena type thing where all dragonborn powers are disabled 2. DLC Co-op only would solve this. 3. Disable the feature for PCs in your world to do this much like DS 4. See above statment. These issues you've stated are hardly unwork aroundable.Shielder7
Never said these issues are hard to work around, however, to develop co-op and the work around features takes resources. And resources are something I would much rather have them spend on the base game. Then on the PC there is the additional problem of moddability, chances are that my modding set up will be pretty much exclusive to me and as a result I wont be able to find other players. For me to find a co-op partner, chances are they will have to use the exact same mod set up as the ones I am using. I could turn off mods, but looking at the way things are going, I dont think I want to touch base game once I mod it.
Furthermore the multiplayer features in Demons Souls sucked. The co-op was ruined by lag and the fact that it made everything too easy, while invasions were ruined by the fact that Invaders were so redicilously underpowered compared to the invaded that whenever I felt invaders were more of an annoyance than an actual threat.
I think that all rpgs should have some competitive aspect where you can put your character/team against another to prove who is truly a skilled strategist. Co op would also be great for elder scrolls and even dragon age. AndrovinusAgreed unless there is some time slowing ability like in mass effect 2 as that could pose a problem.
Why not???!!! Are you affraid my good looking Shepard can steal Miranda from that ugly zombi Shepard of yours when we save earth....hahahahah :P ;)If you mean multiplayer like in demons souls, integrated into the single player, I don't think I'd like to see other galaxy saviors, Shepards running around me. A total immersion breaker. Only because it works on demons souls doesn't mean it can work in every other game.
Although it may work in Skyrim. Elder scrolls games have always been about you making your own story so playing with others would be kinda fun actually.

Are you affraid my good looking Shepard can steal Miranda from that ugly zombi Shepard of yours when we save earth....hahahahah :P ;)I, on the other hand, wouldn't mind sharing victory and glory with another person. I mean TECHNICALLY it was a team effort anyway with an entire ship of people. Besides, if you really don't want to share the spotlight, co-op in my eyes is an optional feature. You don't do it if you don't want to share the spoils of war. Hell, I beat Gears of War and the Fables before I did co-op. I wanted to be the sole savior once and then after that I didn't care. Sharing the victory with others is great but I don't think you'll like to be in my command or otherwise So it's better a open world when you encounter other players and do some teamwork to achieve some difficult goals game provides you, like in Borderlands....who knows Skyrim will be great ....no sorry AWESOME ;)If you mean multiplayer like in demons souls, integrated into the single player, I don't think I'd like to see other galaxy saviors, Shepards running around me.
