The Mass Effect team has said they want to make the series a generation trilogy, which means all 3 games before next gen. That gives them about 5 years to put out the first game, put out the promised downloadable content, create a 2nd game, create DLC for that, and create a the 3rd game with DLC. PC is getting Dragon Age, and even on the Bioware forums they have confirmed ME is a 360 exclusive. There is really no time to stop and make a port to PC, and if there is expect it in 2009.

So, even if Mass Effect DOES go to PC, I guarantee you by the time PC gets the 2 year old game we already played we will have or about to have the sequel. Just like Gears and Halo.

[QUOTE="foxhound_fox"]The 360's hardware is not very much different in architecture to that of a PC... a port will be a cake walk for Bioware.rykaziel

Who says Bioware has to port it? Bungie doesn't port the Halo for PC games, MS will just license out another studio if they wanted to.

Bingo.

Who cares really? Downgrade Effect is nothing more then a crappy KoToR clone anyway, even Star Wars nerds wont buy into the fact that BioWare pretty much ripped off their own game franchise.DSgamer64

Honestly, I don't even know where start with this post...

It wasn't downgraded. Mass Effect isn't a KOTOR clone. A developer cannot ripoff themselves. I would continue with proof for each of my points, but judging by your post, I shouldn't even bother wasting my time...

shut up, yes it is. just like kotor, devil may cry, resident evil a whole bunch of other games that would "never" make it to the PC. Face it, PC is your GOD. Since your very own console games came from it and can be played on it.

Once again, since when does anyone care about Jade Empire anymore? If ME does go to PC, it will be when 360 already has the sequel.

If Hellgate: London is as good as D2 was I won't need any other games for about a year and half.

And in my case it would be like 4 years.

Uhm, how about the PC gamers that didn't get a chance to play it. And in fact, the PC version. Wow, just wow. Higher resolution textures, better lighting and shadows, silky smooth frames. It was really nice. Seems to me that the Xbox fanboys all jump up and down and hype a game to be really great for a short while...

But once the inevitable PC version comes around, they all act like it's so 'meh' and not important anymore. Good games are still good games regardless of anyone's short attention span timeframes and impatient nature.

Well, I know I don't.

Chris Priestly:
"As we've said before, Mass Effect is planned as an Xbox 360 exclusive title. This means we are not working on a PC version and have no plans to start making one.
It is possible that one could be made in the future, but it would certainly be a wait of a number of years before we even start to make one, let alone actually release such a thing.

I'm not saying that waiting is 100% a bad idea. I never thought we would make a PC version of Jade Empire, but now we are. But if you want to wait multiple years just to find out that we are not making one, then it's up to you.

Personally, I don't own a 360 either. But I take a look at Mass Effect which is already 3 games that I want to own (the original, plus our announced 2 sequels), I look at the content that'll be available for ME through Xbox Live, and I look at the other titles on the 360 that I'd like to play (even though I'm a PC RPG geek, I do play a few sports games which I find work better on platforms), and I'm going to buy one.

Whether you get one or not, it should be a careful decision for you, or for anyone. We have a number of staff here at the office with old "next big thing" consoles they bought for only 1 or 2 games gathering dust. Look at the titles available, look at your finances and see what the right choice is for you."

This is a quote from a Mass Effect Dev. Basically, it says they are not planning a PC version, but if it they plan to make a port to PC, it will be in a number of years, not months.

Well. at the time of posting I was at home. And still am.

I mean, why the heck would any PC gamer be interested in a game which will be a Xbox 360 exclusive? What's the point?

I believe that the majority of PC gamers don't care about Mass Effect because:

a) Even if it comes to the PC, comparing with the other PC games at that time, it'll be washed out, boring, mediocre crap. Just like Gears of War will be.

b) PCs will have about 40x better games at the time

C) It'll be a console port
