I bet they wish they had blue-ray.Hmmmm......no. Swapping discs is a good alternative to spending unneeded cash.

if anyone actually installs games onto their HDD they are wasting their timeR-Dot-Yung"The three-minute installation process, which begs the question of how much space is Genji using of the 4GB Blu-Ray disc, will reduces load times from 15 seconds to 4." I would install.

Swapping discs isn't a big deal, as long as it's something you only need to do once in a great while.
Like FF7 style.
[QUOTE="Vyse_The_Daring"]My favourite game of all time comes on 2 disks Felous1Chrono Cross ? Skies of Arcadia. Unfortunately I have never played Chrono Cross.
[QUOTE="CelineDion"]>Like FF7 style.Felous1FF7 had 3 discs, right ?
Correct.
And FFVIII had 4 discs. And disc swapping was also not an issue of note for that game.
Which isn't to say that FFVIII didn't have many, many issues, but you know what I mean.

Damn......that is just too much space to be stored..... it were like 500 MB, that would be better. So If I get a PS3, I would have to buy a new HDD before I fill up my 360's 20 GB HDD? Damn, that sucks.

Ironic that for movies the big selling point is multiple discs. As far as 1080p goes I thought very few PS3 games run it, the NBA title does and the Marvel game, any others?
Although... in somewhat of a defence... that is not a permanent installation. It is only temporary until you un-install it. Although, the inconvenience of installing and re-installing it will be a great hassle in itself when people start getting more than 10 games.foxhound_foxAnother reason why some PS3 fans should stop and think before making fun of multiple discs.

I don't mind changing disks at all. Gives you something to aim for. i dont get the spending unneeded cash, games are the same price on both consoles so that logic fails. if you are taking about console price then thats a whole different issue, and is still better on ps3 cus blu-ray is the winner and hd-dvd won have as many movies as blu-ray when all is said and done so the variety will blow. and the extra space for games never hurts, im sure if 360 played hd-dvd for games the mass effect devs wouldve taken full advantage, cus it sounds like they werent to confident for dvd 9 and didnt want multiple discs so had to make some cuts in places. and i heard blue dragon was 2 discs, is that true?[QUOTE="Vyse_The_Daring"][QUOTE="Spartan070"][QUOTE="Trading_Zoner"]I bet they wish they had blue-ray.

No, its not a myth, the PS3's BD drive reads at 8.7 MB/s, the 360's DVD drive reads at 16.5 MB/s.
Mass Effect is probably coming to PC/PS3 after the 360 verison...HammerofjusticeThen Heavenly Sword will come to 360....MS is publishing Mass Effect.

you should at an "at the moment" to everyting Hayashi said because the ps3 will most definetly get some 1080p games in the future that looks as good if not better than the best looking 720p games of this year...munu9He's not the first one to say that 1080p takes a hit on the performance.

4GB-5GB is not tipical, 1GB or less is more typical. And unlike the xbox360 HDD, you can upgrade the ps3's HDD anytime you want with any 2.5 inch HDD or just get the 60GB version :

wheres the link buddy to a credible source, and did you know that the dvd drive is jumpy and only reads fast on the edge of the disc, how often do games do that ? the blu ray speed is only slow for blu ray standards because new players are getting extremely fast.[QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"][QUOTE="CarlosPontinas"]Hmmmm......no. It may have made the ps3 expensive but don't stoup to this fanboy level by calling the ps3's blu-ray drive "shoddy" It's a very good blu-ray drive and in some has held up better at launch than the xbox360's DVD drive...
[QUOTE="R-Dot-Yung"]PC yes, PS3 noFelous1PC maybe* Mass Effect is a trilogy, they might not have enough time to port it over, you never know. the same can be said about Gears, but now it is also coming to PC, dont try to defend the PC port issue cus we all know MS is gonna bring over the big hitters to support vista and its DX10 capability.

How many blue ray drives are there for comparison? I don't think there are many. Truth be told anyone who bought a PS3 for its BR drive bought a turkey. Please Log In to post.
