The first Mass Effect, no. Mass Effect 2? Yep. Not only do they introduce brand new characters, but they develop other ones in the main game even further (or so I've heard). The fact there isn't a GOTY Edition yet is despicable.

It's true. The last dlc, Arrival is a big deal too. It kinda opens ME3. The game itself didn't do much to progress the main story after all, it was mostly about solving daddy issues for a bunch of guys you pick around.

There are really only 2 you need. Lair of the Shadow Broker (which is actually worth the $10/800MSP) and The Arrival (it's cheaper at $7/560MSP and it moves the story forward, but it's only ok)

Bring Down the Sky - not really essential, but make The Arrival's story stand out more Pinnacle Station - Not related Overlord - Not related Lair of Shadow Broker - Related Kasumi - Maybe you might see her in ME3 The Arrival - Abso-f***ing-lutely essential in understanding the opening scene for ME3. Happens to be the worst ME2 DLC as well.

That's because BioWare is owned by EA now, foxhound. :P

I think "Arrival" was the only DLC to really progress the story, and even that wasn't by much. You could read up on the DLC and learn everything in a couple of minutes.

Yes, well, I wouldn't expect that to happen again.

No there is no DLC for ME2 that makes it so you have to download it almost all of it is side stuff and the other stuff will be talked about in ME3 so you aren't all of a sudden missing things.

I'm sure I could youtube the CS's of all of Mass Effect as well. Not the same as playing the story IMHO. Big MEH to DLC that adds to the games main story in a significant way.

Yes, bio is retarded with their dlc...

You won't really be confused, but you still don't get the story content before me3.Inconsistancy

Wait a second...Is a blizzard Fan calling the pot black? How SC2 story going for you...are you done yet? Also, about Diablo 2....How was it like to pay extra to finish the story of the game?

StarCraft II: WoL is a stand alone game. It has a beginning, middle, and end, and it wraps up the story it starts nicely , with just as many missions as the original game. Complaining that Blizzard split the campaigns into three parts to give us more content is stupid.

Can't that be said for dlc as well.:P The fact is to get more story out of SC2...You have to pay more. The thing is that the guy is criticizing a game for adding content you have to pay extra for when the game he love does the same thing. Sure, ME2 has extra weapons but that's not need to get the full story.

The only ones I would even consider paying for are Overlord and Lair of the shadow broker. You can just watch the res on Youtube if you want the story.

Overlord, Kasumi, Zaeed - no, although they might be mentioned in ME3 or might turn up if you've downloaded them. Lair of the Shadow Broker - probably, you might be confused if you don't at least YouTube it. Mind you, it does happen to be the best by quite a margin. Arrival - very much so, otherwise you'll have absolutely no clue what's happening in ME3. Also happens to be the worst.

1. Overlord and LoftSB are worth it. Why? OL can effect the fate of the Geth in ME3 and LotSB effects your relation ship with Liara if you romanced her....Plus, playing it is fun. Too many people are think about the story part and not thinking about the game part. 2. Kasumi and Zaeed is up to you. Kasumi is one of the best squad member you'll ever have but is only worth it if you want to replay the game alot. Zaeed will just fade in the back ground. 3. Arrival......You don't need. AKA ME fans only. It has an interesting story but no matter what you do it, everything happen to your Shep...even if you don't buy the dlc.
