Why has no one mentioned this? How cool is that... finally a developer taking PS3 ports seriously. Can't wait for January. Never got the chance to play this.

This really should be in the Mass Effect 2 PS3 forum. Or are just trying to start a flame war?

I think this is fairly relevant to system wars. One of the best 360 exclusives goes to PS3 and the ps3 owners get a better version. Didn't realise this had already been posted... I seem to be making a habit of being late to the party recently.

Wait.. so Mass Effect, ME2, and ME3 all use slight variations of the same engine, and the PS3 version of ME will have the ME3 engine?! Wait.. that doesn't sound so special afterall :P

Wasn't 360 exclusive.

The website says: Houston adds that much of the DLC released for the 360 version, included all patches, is to be included on the disc. What do they mean "much of the DLC"? What are we not getting? I'm buying a 360 in 2011 anyway, so it's a bit lame this is now coming to ps3 anyway :) Oh well, Halo Reach here I come

ME1 looked better than ME2 at least on PC. May not be that much of an improvement after all.

If you say console exclusive than yes :P

But when comparing the 360 and PS3 people do generally mean console excluisve.

No honestly... I am. I have Halo Reach fever at the moment. Plus the new model seems a lot more reliable (and less noisy) than the old one. I did used to have a 360 years ago (check my posting history if you wish) but it died and left me with a (very) bitter taste in my mouth...

Yeah... no. ME2 looked much better, and had better, more consistent textures all around, if not quite as high in places.

I can say the same to you.

Textures looked horrible compared to ME1.

ME2 had a better art**** there's nothing really to argue.

ME1 PC looks better, because it's better optimized for PC.

Yeah, hence my 'in places' bro. Overall texture quality was much much better. Find me a comparision of a random NPC to a random NPC and then we'll talk.

PS. ME2 is the GOTY, hell, Game of the Gen. :)

Well that doesn't make any sense...Why would random NPC's compare the quality better than two party members? ME1 wins.

Listen to the actual podcast if you have time (I think there is a link on the page I referenced).... it's quite interesting and only about 5 minutes long. Lots of detail.

'cause the overall texture consistency in ME2 is better. ;) You'll never admit it though.

psn8214

Both ME1 and ME2 had bad textures on NPCs.

There was a small config change that would fix some of the fuzziness on textures in the first ME though.

ME1 had better background textures.

I don't agree. I think that ME2 looked slightly better than ME1. Smoother edges, a few better textures, etc.. It overall just had a sharper look to it. I just played through both games within the last 3-4 weeks at 1920x1080 on all max settings, so I think I have a pretty good idea.

Granted, this debate will always be a matter of opinion since our eyes can see different things while looking at the same thing. I liked the graphical adjustments that were made from ME1 to ME2, however small they were. Plus Miranda had cameltoe.

Good on Bioware (but who would expect any less?) they are making a proper port.
