This wasn't good. The combat AI looked broken. I already see a lot of cutting corners like they don't animate jumping into the Mako or even show the guy pushing the elevator button. They just skip the frames. That's shoddy.
If you look at it like it was one huge map for an FPS, it's easy to see that it's not impressive at all. Just because they added "RPG" elements (even though it's an FPS) doesn't hide the fact that it's not any better than current FPS coming out.

That may very well be one of the least thought of posts I've ever seen on any board...ever.

Someone sounds bitter... Are you completely insane or have you just never played a BioWare game?
Why are people complaining about frame rate issues like the game is coming out tomorrow or something?Zeliard9Because they have to complain about SOMETHING... It's a compliment to Mass Effect that they're grasping at straws like this. On behalf of the devs- "Thank you."

KotoR was a bitter disappointment with its Choose-Your-Own-Adventure boredom. The RPG system was lackluster compared to its competition at its time, even compared to its own NVN. Jade Empire was a casual, arcade beat-em-up.
So yes, I played them.

Because KOTOR suffered from similar issues maybe?
Which I also feel was a better game on the PC because of this, also a mouse + keyboard is so much smoother when navigating through menu heavy games.

Yeah KOTOR was such a disappointment and is lackluster compared to its competiontion it is on the top of the Gameranking best RPGS.

Ahh... so you're insane then. That much is evident if you didn't think Kotor was great... now run along and take your meds sweetheart. ;)

Straws? LOL You telling me that those framerate lockups every 3 seconds don't bother you? Not to mention how it makes Gears of War on the 360 look like the PC version when you compare framerates in combat, and thats bad. It's a big deal, dude.
For it to be an FPS you would need some, you know, first person bits? Try thinking out at least one post in your lifetime. This wasn't good. The combat AI looked broken. Giant enemy crabs? Well played Bioware, well played.Vandalvideo
They tossed that one up i was waiting for someone to ask about weak spots for massive DAMAGE!!!!
You obviously never played Never Winter Nights. I've been playing Bioware games and saw how they strayed from traditional PNP to the utter most casual crap to grace gaming. Not as casual as Nintendo though.NobuoMusicMaker
And yet NWN was pretty piss-poor compared to other earlier RPG games, such as Fallout and Planescape: Torment. Funny that.

Yeah, I choose to play real RPGs rather than read a choose-your-own-adventure.
Yea let's complain about framerate issue and tearing on a media file taken from a WEB STREAM!!!!, That's a terrific idea since you can't tell if the framerate and tearing are due to the compression of file. Freakin geniuses I tell ya.swanlee
An Xbot using compression as an excuse, that's cute.

Wow is mass effect out or was that the first build of a game that they said was done and now have 5 months to polish up? oh the latter? oh ok thanks

You know, for it to be an FPS, it has to be...FIRST PERSON. I know that concept is hard for you to grasp, as you are blinded by loyalty to Sony, but really...I thought you had common sense.
Ok so i started doing some calculations. Let's just assume the Milky Way has 15 planets. Next, let's assume each planet has 2 smaller planets in it, and each of the 2 smaller planets has another 2 planets within it. That means 2 * 2 = 4 4 * 15 = 60
Assuming there are 15 big planets with 2 smaller planets and 2 smaller planets withint the 2 smaller planets, we automatically have 60 planets to explore. Good lord. Obviously there are a lot more, i just tried using a really now number to see how much content we can really expect. I'm guessing more around 150-300+, that is just absolutely mind blowing. Keep in mind that every single one of these planets are explorable. That's just amazing. Sure some of the planets are obviously going to be lackluster and possibly not have anything decent or maybe nothing at all, but still, the exploration of it is fun enough :) I can't wait for this game.

Yeah yeah, just as you play 'real' music games and the like. Christ, I really wonder if you elitists actually have fun playing games, or if you do it simply to say 'dude...I am SO hardcore, it hurts....I'm awesome'.[QUOTE="ithilgore2006"][QUOTE="NobuoMusicMaker"][QUOTE="FanGirl_22"]Ahh... so you're insane then. Didn't the TC say we were suppoed to be blonw away?
And if you don't want us to analyze it...why are you guys saying we are suppoes to be impressed?
if this was a PS3 game it'd be screwtinized to death for having those problems, Killzone 2 was ripped to shreads by lemmings for not having textures on the wall as crisp as a new bag of potato chips and it's in pre-pre-alpha stages and not due out till 08.
At the beginning of this demo the Dev said Mass Effect is basically FINISHED!!! And it stillhas problemslike this? Lemmings prove to us Sony fans that if someone shows off something it has to be totally perfect or it has to be ridiculled to death for it's inperfections. Well the Devs for Mass Effect AREshowing off their game and it is far from prefect, and the thing is with the dev saying the game is prettymuch DONE, it's proabably going to stay that way.
Yet the lemming think this should somehow "BLOW US AWAY!" I think not.
[QUOTE="Echo13791"]i hadn't cared about this game at all, but after watching that i am sure i will have to get it. LOOK HOW MANY PLANETS THERE ARE! When he zoomed out once i was like, wow, there must be a lot of exploring to do, but then when he zoomed out again, and again, my head fell offNobuoMusicMaker
It'll be like Oblivion. Thousands of dungeons that look exactly the same that matters very little to the game and incurs repetitiveness for the hardcore explorer.
Biwoare already confirmed that they have a huge variety of snow, desert, forest, barren cities and also cities full with life and ambience. Why are you being so negative?
