[QUOTE="True_Gamer_"][QUOTE="E M I N 3 M"][QUOTE="True_Gamer_"] [QUOTE="E M I N 3 M"]PS3 games were up on the net 2 weeks after it released. The reason why it's not 'huge' is because currently you can only play them on your HDD on PS3. Both BR & HD-DVD have been pirated now, so its only a matter of time before someone makes a program to rip the games. BR burners are also quite expensive...but that will change by the end of the year! E M I N 3 M
DVD burners cost $25...
It will take 10 years for BR writers to reach this pricepoint...
My first Pioneer 1x DVD burner cost me $300 way back when. lol Aren't Pioneer BR burners like $450 now? Once they drop $100-200 im good to go :PIt costed you $300 in 1996? Youre one lucky guy...
Also I would like a link to that Pioneer $450 BRRW...
Cause this lite cheapo costs $500 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106037
$50 difference from what i said? C'mon now....Like i said, by the end of the year it will be $300 and then i'll buy one, like lots of people will. And to the other poster talking about PS2 & swap magic. If PS3 games are currently being played from the HDD's, once these burners drop price...Its a wrap! I would go out on a limb & say that BR blanks could stay @ $20 a piece. You know why? Cause $20 is better than $60+ ;)M$ banks off X360 piracy even more so now than they did w/Xbox. Cause now, regardless if the game is pirated, they're still ranking in crazy dough from the market place and no one is cheating.
$2 for blank DVD9 is much cheaper than $20 for blank BR....
XBL users were 10% of all Xbox owners so if M$ and its developers really believe that XBL can prevent piracy they couldnt be more wrong....
Also in the OP link there is stated that Asian pirates will try to emulate a private XBL fakeserver...if this happens I would like to see M$'s face...
