[QUOTE="walkingdream"]I read that and honestly 90% of your complaints were opinions. You do realise the reason they had to get cortana to the POA is so they could get to Halo? It was a calculated jump. Also Malcolm McDowell is a good actor. What part did he play in KZ3? (i own KZ2 but not 3). arbitor365
I love the part with malcolm mcdowell at 2:00-3:00

lets compare halo reach and killzone 3. look at the first set of cutscenes side by side
first 14 minutes of killzone 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9ufbjTmrWY
first 8 minutes of halo reach http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IJ3gobdOFH0
at 3:38-5:00 killzone 3 establishes everything you need to know about rico, sev, and narville. rico is headstrong and reckless and insubordinate. narville is thrust into very difficult situation as a leader (stuck on an enemy planet with little chance of survival). sev is just trying to do the right things, but is very uncertain about how they will get out of this mess. now, are all three of those character descriptions incredibly deep? no. but they are, in fact, character descriptions. the characters have struggles and more importantly you can see them emotionally reacting to them. they have a basic semblance of character.
now look at 00:58-3:15 in reach. it only establishes why the spartans are on reach and that noble six has an "interesting record." none of the characters display human features. nothing is said or shown to give them any defining character features. throughout the rest of the video, there really is no story at all. stuff is happening (not alot though), but there are no real characters and thus no tension or reason to care. it kinda reminds me of "the phantom menace." it is so sterile and devoid of emotion and legitimate characters. I know spartans are like any other special ops team and that they have military composure, but that is no excuse for poor characterization.
see theres your fail right there. youact likeyou read the book but then you say the spartans are just like any other special ops team? if you understood you would CLEARLY understand why they display such courage, poise and military bearing. UNLIKE rico, and all the other smartmouth soldiers of KZ's story. also you expect the story to be foreworded in the first few minutes of the game...only means that the game is meant to be played and enjoyed with everything shown on the waters surface. Nothing left to be understood or meant to be "deep" in any kind of way. while i didnt play KZ3 yet, i didnt look at the video so ill reserve my opinions till i play the game. i can only comment on KZ2...
