yes. i tried ME 2 and 3 but couldnot really play it more. they are boring.

Different type of games. Not even comparable. But if I have to pick it will be Max Payne. The ME games bore me.

Max Payne 1&2 suck and aged badly. MP3 is great.

Mass Effect 1-3 are awesome. The games got better with each game. All 3 aged nicely.

Mass Effect for me.

Max Payne 1 and 2 are classics, and 3 is rock solid mechanically, but I think it wrecked the atmosphere, story and character unfortunately. I don't care about some rich Brazilian family and the sunny favella setting just didn't work for me.

Each Mass Effect game has it's flaws (1 is quite clunky, 2 is too streamlined, 3 screwed the ending) but the overall experience is still wonderful.

Basically I enjoyed the gameplay of all 6 games but the story of only 5, with MP3 being the odd one out. Sorry kid, nothing personal ;)

What kinda comparison is this. One is RPG, the other is third person shooter. You should compare superior Max Payne 1 and 2 with inferior Max Payne 3. Mass Effect is a different beast. That said, both franchises are great. Latest entry of Mass Effect sucked while Max Payne 3 was at least decent.

Max Payne games aged incredibly well (unless you are playing Console ports). Have played Max Payne 2 over 20 times. I play it every year.

Sure. Max Payne 3 manage to make much better shooting. as a result its better than 2. althought its nowhere near as good as original. max payne 3 is also best rockstar game ever made.

at first. i didnot like its story but then i replay again and i found story very interesting. much better than majority of RPG games.

Mass effect only has 1 quality game in the series (2). Max Payne has 2, one of which is one of the greatest TPS of all time.

Max Payne 3 is the trilogy Who compares these two games MAX Payne 3 is the best shooting game made to date with its physics and storytelling narration is genius. Make max Payne 4 but Stick to the dam mechanics and bring the technology up to date Anybody who disagrees is a spoiled entitled religious freak. Max Payne 1 had a great story but shitty gameplay. Max Payne 3 had an adequate combat system but - due to the loss of Sam Lake and replacement by Rockstar - shitty writing.

Max Payne 2 is the only entry in the series that still holds up - featuring a much improved combat system and writing on a level that surpasses most other games' scripts.

So for me MP2 is a rare, polished gem.

As for Mass Effect I don't have anything bad to say about it - except maybe that the fans don't give it the credit it deserves. It is truly a great series IMO

Story, characters, setting, exploration, varied content, etc.. Mass Effect offers so much more than Max Payne and is a much more engaging experience.

the story and characters are easily better in max payne. Max is most depressing and oppressed character in gaming history. his story is sad. he lost his wife and daughter, he lost his best friend and frame for murder, he got chase by police and criminals alike. and he even got arrested for crime he never committed, and even after 12 years he found peace. he is just so badass that make his character unbelievable.

Huh? Plot is rich people exploiting the poor, as well as exploiting him as he's basically broken and expected to take it up the butt. As far as a conclusion to the story goes, it's fantastic ending and a natural extension of 1/2. They didn't just ape it, they put their own take on it and actually gave the arc a proper, good capper.

What's Mass Effects story again? An ancient evil awakens. A bunch of obvious archetypes you can have puppet sex with.

While I do enjoy Max Payne I definitely prefer the Mass Effect trilogy. Such an awesome sprawling epic.
