If they turn it into a linear action game to save funds, it's not only going to suck, it will defeat the premise and vision of shenmue. They might aswell make a new IP. Honestly, if they go that way I'd prefer Shenmue to end with a question mark of what could of been, but I'm hopeful somehow, shenmue III not only gets made but SOMEHOW makes it to western shores.

That would be huge, but I don't believe in it yet.

games with too many QTEs are fine, so long as they not exclusive to a sony platform

maybe people will buy it this time around.

Weren't the first two games on the Dreamcast?

Wouldn't that just mean you would need 2 consoles and not 3?

I wonder how many people that are going to be going nuts in this thread over this have actually played the games. Also if this game does happen and it is multiplat would they still care about the game?

I wouldn't of thought just PS4. Why would they do that?

Loved the first Shenmue had that purchased release day in the UK. Never played the sequel, already traded the sinking Dreamcast ship for a PS2. Played the demo on the Xbox, never grabbed me like the first though, so didnt end up buying it.

Nice to hear it may be coming back for the fans to finally finish the story and for the game to be enjoyed by new gamers.

Good thing that you didn't, because Shenmue II ended on a huge cliffhanger, probably the biggest ever seen in gaming (excluding HL Ep 2). I can't imagine how some fans felt, to never see a conclusion to it. So i bet a lot of people are happy at a brighter possibility of Shenmue III. 

I was abt to post this one :D ..... day one if true ... i have been asking for it for years .. the game has mant flaws and yet it was so great that i couldn't help but to fogive them all .... and luckily for me, I am planning to get a PS4 .. win win.

Both Shenmue 1 and 2 were some of the best games that came out from last gen! Can't wait for 3 or 4 to get to beat Lan D!

I guess you all have not played Shenmur lately. It didn't age very well. Not saying it won't be good, but Yu Zusuki hasn't did anything in years and the competition has better gameplay and is just more fun. It will probably be like Nights on the Wii. A big disappointment.
