Memo to PC gamers -> Console owners dont envy you at all!

I keep seeing all these threads hailing the PC as the pinnacle of gaming and tryin to rub it in the faces of PS3/360/Wii owners... what you guys fail to understand is that we dont care. Cows and lemmings disregard hermits FAR more than sheep, and thats saying a lot. Playing games on a PC is lame, outdated and wayy too expensive. If I wanted to play that Crysis game (which i dont, because the actual game looks like a run of the mill FPS),, id need to spend what, $5,000? No thanks.

You have alot of misconceptions about PC gaming.

1. PC gaming is not that expensive, $500-600 can buy you a very nice gaming PC( at the right time and place of course)

2. True, not too many blockbuster exclusives for the PC now. But multiplatforms are always better on the PC.

3. If Crysis is a run of the mill FPS,,,,, what would you call Haze or Killzone 2? Those two games are even more generic than Crysis.

Personally if its multiplatform release, I always get the PC version instead of the PS3 one

I agree, to an extent. Sometimes I feel that console and PC gaming is completely different because of the amount of exclusives on consoles/PCs which make them different.

And please, let's not use MMOs in this debate. WoW itself costs $15 per month, thats over $200 for one game in just a year.

-Potential hardware/software problems (consoles have this too though, RRoD anyone)

-No MGS4 + other console exclusives

I've always found PC's to be better for FPS, RTS, MMO's, TBS, sort of thing.
I've found consoles to better for platformers, adventure, sports, and fighting games.

Comparitively speaking, PC gaming won't die, seeing as how to much relys on PCs these days. Everyone has one, everyone will keep on getting them. They have their uses outside of gaming, so they'll always exist. That's alot for a developer to pass up. "A platform that doesn't die"

On the reverse, CONSOLE gaming looks very strong. It has died once before (with the Atari), but I think with the competitive nature, and multiple companies, it will stay strong from here on out.

Now, Nintendo, vs Sony, vs Microsoft consoles. That's the real battle. ;)

When i play games I want to play them on my 42" tele, sunk into the sofa and I can sit there for hours given the right game. I could never do that with a PC game, its not as comfortable or enjoyable. Sure I could connect my PC up to my tele and do it that way but its just to much hassle. Consoles appeal is the very fact that you can buy a game and KNOW that it will work and KNOW that you will be able to play it without any faffing about with software keyboard and mouse controls. Call me old fashioned, call me lazy but the majoyity of the gaming market clearly agrees hence why console gaming is far more popular than PC gaming. verve89

Console is more popular as a whole. it is unfair to expect that PC gaming sales will beat 360/PS3/DS/PSP/PS2/Wii sales. I prefer PC because of the keyboard and mouse, and because I can make it look as good as I can without having to settle for what they give me. I hate having to sue whatever pre defined controls are shoved down my throat.

i'm a console gamer .. there are some games on PC that i like, but most are out on consoles now, like half-life 2

my favourite company is nintendo, i love their games, so it's gonna be mighty hard for a hermit to convince me to ditch consoles for a PC

First of all PC gaming is not lame or outdated. Second if you are poor then yeah I can see your expensive argument. Lastly PC gamers are HAPPY that PC gaming is NOT mainstream. I wouldn't want it any other way. If it were any more "mainstream" I'd have to deal with people like you and I prefer not to. PC will ALWAYS be my PRIMARY gaming system. The experience I get is worth more than $5,000 which is not even a valid figure anyways.

Actually I am a console owner and my PC is not up to date or anything ( hopefully it will be soon ) , but I preder my FPS with a mouse and keyboard. Also I still think that Battlefield 2 is one of the best shooters online. demon565

I still think BF2 is good as well. I just don't get much time to play it, many games need my attention these days.

1. PC's have and always will be the best for gaming in every aspect. Online, controls, graphics, etc.
2. Crysis doesn't require a $5000 PC to play. If you knew anything about PC's you'd know this but you make it really clear that you know jack sh*t.
