Metal Gear Franchise is the true milking machine

Caution Wall Of Text Ahead People need to stop accusing the halo series of being milked when MGS series is worse imo. Each major Halo game featuring the chief has come out every three years, which offers a good break to produce quality work. Halo Reach seems to be heading in that direction as well. Bungie's track record shows how they improve on each halo and make a quality game that is fun. They also offer (next to valve) the best suppport to the online community, with 10 new maps released since halo 3, and various weekend playlists. Halo ODST is more of an expansion and builds on the existing story, while giving players a new character. Bungie has provided enough new content, and has changed the gameplay enough to make this a totally different game in the halo universe. Even Halo Wars is completely different and offered solid RTS on a console (something PS3 owners don't have) Created by the famous Ensemble, it was not a rip-off of the Halo name, but a well made game. Now onto MGS there have been 7 metal gear solid games released since conception in what 1980's and at least 3 confirmed planned to come. If any game should retire its hero MGS should. What happened with MGS 4 being the last? That seemed more like a way to hype the game, to give fans more of a reason to buy, but it was only the last in the story. Looks like Hideo Kojima needed to keep reusing his old characters instead of making a new one after 20+ years. Anyone remember MGS 3: Subsistence? rebuy the same MGS 3 game w/ some added features and an online play that should have already been added, along w/ being able to use rite analog to look around. This series seems to have a hard time letting its characters die, as they all seem to come back in one way or another. If Halo can be considered milkage despite being released w/ quality gameplay, then i cry foul on the MGS franchise. There are so many obvious flaws, however ppl only seem to point at halo and scrutinize it. MGS story is in no way enthralling or captivating. I know for a fact more than 3/4 of the ppl who say how great the story is don't even understand it. They see a couple of touching scenes, and thats what they base the entire story on. The Halo story on the other hand is understandable, and presents itself in a grand fashion. It is a really well told tale that can be understood, and also creates tension and excitement (TBH there are some corny predictable moments, but its a Scifi, can't expect less) The online mode is terrible. MGS cannot come close in comparison to Halo. The online is a broken piece of junk that is neither fun or exciting. There has been no support to the game post-release. As far as hype goes you have toi admit MGS 4 was hyped to the stars, not as much as halo because the halo series is more popular, but the hype factor was like that of killzone 2. The high scores given to the game was only initial impressions, and did not look at every aspect, and in fact ignored a lot of issues. ( I think this happened with GTA IV as well) I could compare the innovations of each game, or show how MGS also has not changed gameplay much yet ppl say halo is the same. This is for all the sony only fans who think HALO is overated and milked when they have to just look at a few of their own 'AAAA' games. Either Halo=/=Milkage or MGS=Milkage + Halo=Milkage Rant over oh and b4 ppl can post it: COOL STORY BRO (yeah get something new already) WALL OF TEXT DIDNT READ (wutever go do a poll or something)

Ratchet and Clank as well as Jak and Daxter are much more milked franchises. So many games in just one generation as well as this generation.

Ratchet, yes. Jak? HELL NO! We need more Jak. You wanna talk about Milkage, thrown Zelda or Mario into the mix. Mario has done every activity on earth and Zelda keeps doing the same thing over and over again. Same damn story, same damn gameplay, just change the instrument once in a while. and change that horse into boat. Same game, different coat of paint. I think Nintendo needs to get counseling for its Princess fetish and actually make a Mario/Zelda game that doesnt have to do with saving some dumb princess who continuously gets herself into trouble. Why can't peach get decent body guards instead of idiotic toadstools? As for Zelda, I honestly believe Link should just let her die, maybe that way there will be a new Princess who can...you know, actually take care of her Kingdom? :|

if your really comparing Mggs tohal? MGS has actual story line and many diffrent approaches you can take to beat the game lol halo is just the same game you kill aliens on a planet you kill aliens on a ship a big ring explodes you go play the same maps online

i agree that MGO is inferior to halo online, but i wouldnt say MGO isnt fun or exciting...play some team sneaking, that has provided me with some of the most fun and exciting moments this generation.
