[QUOTE="Mozelleple112"][QUOTE="princeofshapeir"]MGS4's gameplay was nothing but clunky, so whatever.princeofshapeirMGS4 probably has the greatest and most defined gameplay in history. The controls were perfect. What are you talking about? You must be a nut. GTA IV had better shooting. Wow, holy triple post, I tried refeshing until page loaded. Guess Glitchspot is at it again. Uhh GTAIV had absolutely HORRIBLE shooting. The aim was a clunky mess and the auto aim was a complete joke, not to mention the mediocre gameplay in the game its self. Who said anything about shooting? MGS4 is first and foremost a Stealth game, with action elements, shooting being one of them. It handled gunplay perfectly and elegantly. the overall gameplay mechanics and entertainment is unparalleled.
that Konami code bullsh*t was annoying as hell and the updates took days to download. Last time I was in MGO was 2 years ago and I could get in becuz the updates never downloaded. I wen to download them, left for 4 hours, came back, 2%. F*ck that!!! Anyways, MGO wasnt a bad game, is just the damn Konami system and the fact that the only people who played it were a bunch of elite level SUPER skilled Japanese people who where logged in all dayI never played MGO because I couldn't log in. I could write a bunch of random letters on the ID and it would say it was already taken and I don't know why. Always.

you can build an ENTIRE new PC the will **** all over current gen consoles for less than $700 and that will last a good few years sir
learn your crap
[QUOTE="Mozelleple112"][QUOTE="princeofshapeir"] Too bad MGS4 allows you to blast through levels alerting all the guards and killing everyone, never having to use stealth, and when you do try to use stealth it's reliant on a nonsensical camoflauge system and super-clunky CQC controls. The gunplay is horrendous: Snake can only aim while slowly creeping towards his enemies or from a crappy cover system. In GTAIV at least you can move fasterthan ten centimetres per second while aiming and rely on a decent cover system. I honestly can't see what people see in this game: the story is balls, the stealth is poo, the controls are as clunky as ever, and the online was populated by trolls. Cows wouldn't give a damn about this game if it hadn't miraculously stolen a 10--they should be talking about Demon's Souls, not MGS4.princeofshapeirAnd the award for dumbest SW poster goes too ... ____ :lol: Yeah, you try blasting through all guards on the boss difficultly.. See how easy that is. - MGS4 gives you the option to play stealthily or like an action movie, either way, it will give you a 10/10 experience. Choice matters! - What? Snake is fully mobile and WALKS while aiming a gun, just like Uncharted, Gears or the abomination that was GTAIV. - MGS4 is not a cover shooter, it uses the classic cover system from previous Metal Gears, works wonders. - The story is the most complex and advanced, yet enjoyable and epic of the generation. The only thing that comes close is the likes of Bioshock, Mass Effect and Batman games but even they are tame compared to mind blowingness that is the story of MGS4. Why bring the highest difficulty level into the discussion? You can blast through levels on Solid Normal, and forcing you to engage in the clunky stealth mechanics on the hardest difficulty by increasing the damage you take is a poor remedy to bad game design. MGS4 isn't strictly a cover shooter but it does include a cover mechanic that allows you to aim from cover. I realize this was present in past MGS games, but in MGS4 Snake sticks his fat ass to a wall and doesn't release until you press circle again. You can't walk up to a wall and get in cover anymore via the analog: you have to press a button. Shooting in MGS4 is either reliant on A) walking slowly while aiming, or B) standing still/crouched/prone. And the story is a cocktail of Kojima's inherent insanity and forced fanservice: it's stupid, silly, incoherent, and melodramatic. GTA IV had a far more meaningful and impactful story than a bunch of old geriatrics fighting each other naked while discussing nanomachines and AI twenty minutes prior.
Damn, Mozelleple112, you're getting sonned. I like the game (tho it's alot worse than the others), but anybody can see how relatively clunky it is. Also, as far as your points about the story are concerned, complex/=/good.
MGO was fk fantastic. After you sorted out the Konami ID. Serious though, it was really, really good.No biggie me thinks since had GS not umm, cheated and left the terrible on-line part of the game out of the review, MGS4 would have scored 7.0. :P

He can't help himself. He has always thought way too highly of Metal Gear. Good riddence. The game had some cool elements but the ID thing and the down right garbage community is what really killed MGO. If anyone played the game knows that the community was filled with cheaters, glitchers, elitest, racist, just pretty much the worst kinds of people you can think of. If you did manage to get into a game with decent people, there would always been that one douchebag who decides to teamkill when he is getting owned lol. But yea the MGO community was the WORST community for any game I have EVER played online.
If you want a example of how bad the community was look up MGO online cheaters on youtube. Heck one time I logged into the game and there was a lobby tittled KKK members only and had racist symbols everywhere........ yea that's how bad the community was.

[QUOTE="the-obiwan"]i didnt even remember this game LULdanygo1996
LuL means dick in swedish i beleive
I don't know about swedish,but it definitely means "dick" in Dutch.Brilliant online, bogged down by ID nonsense and the worst online community I've seen in a game. Didn't play it in years because of the latter, but still, RIP MGO.

This man speaks truth. The community just killed this game, just an awful, awful community.
[QUOTE="mahmoudddd"]console gaming strikes again

The game was really fun and deserved more attention.. The problem was all the id's hassles turned alot of players away before they can even play the game (first time i remember gamers are put off by a game as early as the menu screen) and what stayed was a very young and immature community. Very few times when i played, there wasnt some idiots having some stupid argument in the chat..Quake 3 - 69 metacritic One of the best mp games, huh? Well...enjoy. I'm playing the superior mp experience, Starhawk. Opinions are funny like that. :cool:ispeakfact
Quake 3 Arena doesn't have a score on Metacritic. That 69 is for expansion Team Arena. Quake 3 Arena is one of the best MP shooters in the history. There was a reason why it was played in e-sport tournaments around the world for several years.
Edit: Quake 3 got 9.2 from Gertsmann
