as long as fans enjoy the fourth one, who cares really? a fan will always be a fan. I can only imagine how much PS3 fans who have played all the games are losing their minds playing part 4! good for them! :D

Not really. Realistically very few people use Gamespot as their sole provider of reviews. In the real world, Super Mario Galaxy is the second highest ranked game of all time by reviewers, and Metal Gear Solid 4 is sixty ninth.

The problem with that argument is that the earlier games already set the precedent for later ones which makes it harder to rate higher. Same thing with Soul Calibur 4, which obviously is better than Soul Calibur but Soul Calibur was new back then, and 4 wasn't that innovative except for online.SolidGame_basic

Review wise, yes. But in the end, MGS4 & SC4 > their originals gameplay wise.

oh sorry, I agreed with the wrong person, anyway, I love the game so it doesnt matter which one is better, its what I said in an earlier post, if you like the game thats all that matters, but I do agree with who ever I was trying to agree with in the first place, its hard for a sequal to get the same love as the first that started the series.
