metal gear solid 4 topic.

i am sick of hearing this new thing at system wars. "metal gear solid graphics are overrated or they are not even hd bla bla bla".

metal gears solid graphics are the best and i find them on par with killzones and even better. name me 1 i mean ONE console game that is on par with metal gears solid graphics.

some will say killzone i say killzone is dark and isnt a graphical show case for me since the DARK there is no day level to see the proper graphics.

gears of war looks good but sorry metal gear solid just looks better PERIOD.

uncharted comes close to metal gear solid 4 but still not as good. well uncharted 2 is looking to beat it in the graphical department but untill then i see nothing that is as good as mgs4.

Also, since this is a topic about MGS4 I want to know if it's strange that I never had heard of MGS4 untill I got it last year for Christmas (it came free with my PS3.) It was such a shock to me. I never played a game like it before. NEVER. And now I'm probably the biggest Metal Gear fan on the topic.

Act 2 had the worst looking environments in the game IMO, they weren't bad but not amazing. Every other act looked awesome though.

But the character models owns most games this gen.:D

MGS4 is a very great looking game. I just don't see how people say it has the best story ever told in a video game though. The story in MGS4 doesn't even measure up to the stories in MGS2,MGS3 and MGS1 IMO of course.

Hmmm I agree with TC, I see lots of people saying MGS4's graphics aren't that great but personally I think they're excellent. Not the graphics king, but still very good.

I'm a huge Metal Gear fan and all, but I'm disturbed that no one's bringing up how awful the peripheral textures in this game are. The character models and "moving parts" if you will were amazing, but when you look closely at background textures.... it's all so ugly. Like GTAIV ugly. Oblivion had better background textures.cutmaclass1

all my friends own either a 360 or a combo wii60 i happen to be the only one to get a ps360 and when i showed them killzone they where impressed but when i showed mgs4 they where extremely impressed the game looks amazing on a big screen it is just plain amazing to look at,

Those screens don't help your claim a lot. I have the game, and the everything that has anything to with visuals are TERRIBLE. From textures to environment, from framerate to character models, from physics to animations, terrible, terrible, terrible. The only thing that's not making me trade in the game is the gameplay and story. But other than that, the graphics are not bashed enough in real world because they are horrid and disgusting.

a graphical masterpiece does not mean more resolution it means that the game look amazing in general like metal gear solid. the enviroments are amazing it is just breath taking to look at and that s not counting the gameplay.

If you're implying that MGS4 looks better than Crysis, then mega-facepalm. MGS4 looks like Half Life 2 to be honest. Maybe a tad better, but not by much.

Did you even bother reading the other posts? This game looks terrible - FACT. MGS4 won because Consolespot is biased. This can't be more true because Crysis Warhead was released in 2008 as well. People think it looks good just because of the hype and the stupid award that I think is < facts.

You need to try harder, not me. I gave some irrefutable facts about the visuals, and all you did was bring up some biased opinion of someone else.

How can you honestly think that looks remotely good? Snake has like 2 polygons, the smoke on the right side is a joke, ans the buildings are all perfect squares.

MGS4 and KZ2 are two amazing looking games that are just of different styles is all. the way i think of it, ITS ALL GOOD if you got to own um both

yes no one can deny that MGS4 is one of the best looking game this gen.. but so is KZ2, Uncharted and gears.

But IMO.. uncharted DF>KZ2>>MGS4=Gears2
