MGS seems to be turning into COD with a new game releaseding way to consistently.

If the milks good then why wouldn't you want to keep on drinking it?
People should want more of what they like.
^ Well thats kind of dumb. So If this title is officially called MGS5 or 6 you won't title it that because it's on a handheld? Well to be fair Peace Walker was a better game than MGS4 and it is a handheld title. So let me guess Dragon Quest IX doesn't count since it is on the DS? (this post was directed at anti fanboy)
rising is not a true metal gear solid game[QUOTE="coltgames"][QUOTE="Raymundo_Manuel"]
You're right, but it's one of those console franchises that I'd actually like to get into beyond just the main series. I'm talking Portable Ops, Peace Walker, Rising (coming up), and perhaps Acid.
I'm sure I'm missing some beyond that as well.

And where did you hear this exactly??
MGS Rising is just their to explain connections to MGS4 and MGS2, when it comes to the character Raiden. I think what coltgames means is that Rising is more action oriented, while a "True" MGS game would be more stealth based. He is right on that account. Though that doesn't mean that Rising will be bad, I am looking forward to playing it.if its officially called mgs5 or 6 and is a handheld i'll call it that, but it would be stupid. take kigdom hearts because i see a thread about it everyday. are any of these ds/psp/phone games called the third one? no. they are full games, but its just stupid to think of backwards progression. mgs1 on ps1 to mgs2 and mgs3 on ps2. mgs4 was on ps3. portable ops, a spinoff, sequel, whatever you call it comes out. i heard that was a full blown mgs game. why was it not called 5? then peace walker came out. i believe kojima only called it "like a 5" meaning, it had enough content in his opinion to be 5. but unless it were to be on ps3 and remade using its hardware (unlike how gta lcs and vcs were just put there as ps2 game due to similar power) then it shouldn't really be considered the 5th game. in short, how many console game series (to be specific, lets say a numbered series like mgs) are there that consider a portable installment in the franchise a true successor to the previous one? and again, if peace walker were to be renamed 5, what is portable ops?^ Well thats kind of dumb. So If this title is officially called MGS5 or 6 you won't title it that because it's on a handheld? Well to be fair Peace Walker was a better game than MGS4 and it is a handheld title.

edit: just want to say that since I don't feel like buying another psp, I would actually love portable opsand or just peace walker at least to see console releases. even if doing such a thing would mean making the, ps2 games, (again like lcs and vcs) i'd still buy. it would just be kind of lame going from 4 with its graphics and stuff to peace walker looking so outdated.
Yea, going too far. A Call of Duty game comes out every year, not to mention that improvement wise, everything is minimal. Also not to mention DLC for MW2 is $15 each. Joke post? Fail post? God forbid, Serious post?MGS seems to be turning into COD with a new game releaseding way to consistently.

Portable Ops is just Portable Ops nothing more. During Peace Walker development and for the most part Kojima treated as if it was MGS5 and at one point it was titled MGS5 Peace Walker. As for the whole dated graphic thing that doesn't mean anything especially considering Peace Walker is the better game. It's all just one story really, are all from the same Famitsu interview. The story so far:
1. MGS5
2. Peace Walker on PS3
3. Peace Walker 2
So which one's real?
Gxgear
I really want this on a console (PS3 preferably). I dont want the game to be hindered by "space" because of it being on a handheld. Please Kojima put it on PS3.
yeah but he already ended the story, he's going back to prequels like Star Wars did which can turn out to be awesome like MGS3 was Ya, now I just need to play MGS3 first :P. Seriously really want to but I don't have a PS2 with me, it's at my dad's house. Maybe I'll let someone borrow my Wii and some games if they let me borrow their PS2.... hmmmm. I'd love a Peace Walker 2 on PS3. I like the gameplay in MGS4 a lot but from what I've seen I prefer the atmosphere and environments in 3 so much more to the drab Middle East setting of 4.The drab middle east setting of 4? What about the jungle setting of 4? or the frozen base? Or the eastern european city? Descring 4 as having a drab middle east setting makes it sound like you haven't played it, or at least not past Act 1.[QUOTE="KevinButlerVP"][QUOTE="Legendaryscmt"]
While I'm a huge MGS fan, it's really time to put the series as a whole to an end. We don't need this series turning into a 20 game franchise.
oldkingallant
slow down kojima.. we dont need another Metal Gear right now.. take a few years off, and come back with a truly epic ps3 exclusive
ultraking
Nah. He doesn't have to slow down. I want more mgs games! Also hopefully kojima next game, if not on handheld, is also on pc or 360 (preferably pc since it doens't have the 360's dvd space problem, and can have same or better technicality than of ps3's)
How is it a rehash when the games different from one another?rehash much?
wheres my snatcher 2?
Ultizer
Somone probably already mentioned this but didn't Kojima once say he was done with MGS after MGS2? Or was it MGS3? Heh this series will never end! Not that I'm complaining, I like me some MGS! Just hope the next one other than Rising is for the consoles as I don't like handheld gaming all too much.
What the hell. MGS5 isn't out yet, and you're already talking about MGS6?http://www.meodia.com/news/1303/metal-gear-solid-peace-walker-2-confirmed/
"The follow-up to Peace Walker is really something. It's a revolution, game system-wise. We're able to do what we couldn't do with Peace Walker."

I agree, how can you be a Metal Gear fan and want less Metal Gear's, it's just not normal. :p
Is it that hard to consider the thought that some MGS fans dont want the series to become overbloated with needless sequels/prequels/spin-offs?
I like this mentality where only Nintendo and M$ are guilty of milking.
Yet when it comes to Konami/Kojima,they're obviously expanding tEh art right?
