This probably. Maybe they'll include The Twin Snakes.Old and young Snake on the cover, guessing mgs 1-4.
HD MGS1 remake please!

OG MGS > Twin Snakes
The new perspective in Twin Snakes pretty much sets the whole thing on easy mode. Think of it like putting Super Mario World in first-person. Would it work? Maybe. But the game design clearly wasn't set with it in mind, and the game would suffer for it. Twin Snakes also adds in overexaggerated cutscenes and inferior voicework, which doesn't help.
Anyways, I'd probably buy a Legacy Collection if it came out.
Slashkice
Because Metal Gear Solid never had exaggerated cutscenes. Ever.
Also, yo, how is the voicework inferior?
I'd be pissed too... I passed on that hd collection because I really want mgs1 the most. I've played through mgs2 more than I'd like to admit. Just give me a proper saga release and id be happy.Goddammit, I bought the HD Collection recently.

I hope it is that because the reason I didn't get MGS HD collection was because MGS1 is the only MGS game I think needs an HD remake since I first played it in 2008 and I got to where Meryl gets shot by Sniper Wolf and I stopped playing.Old and young Snake on the cover, guessing mgs 1-4.
HD MGS1 remake please!

Yo, that already exists, Toni.

I would die for PS3 version of Peace Walker.

Oh lawd. Then, I would kill a bytch for a re-release version!Â
derpy me, derpy me...I didn't know that tho :P
Yeah, it's on the HD Collection. Huge improvement over the PSP version, too. They really did a good job. I'm lovin' it, myself.Well glad I didn't buy the HD Collection.
Course now my Essential Collection will be ignored when I get this.:P Haha METAL GEAR! LIQUID! SNAKE!
Man MGS makes yelling fun.

Ok, this is stupidly tempting.
Kind of a bummer that MGS4 isn't included since its the one MGS game with the most tight gameplay mechanics, but the Best MGS game (mgs3) being legit included with Peace Walker is cray man.

True story. I dunno, if you want MGS4, too, you might just wanna wait and see if this rumor pans out. But yeah, I bought it for 3 (easily the best in the series) and Peace Walker. Plus the PS3 version looks better and runs better, and dem context sensitive buttons.Yeah, it's on the HD Collection. Huge improvement over the PSP version, too. They really did a good job. It's MGS3 Substance, so the controls arent horrible, definitely worth it.
Plus having the GOAT MGS2 in HD is wonderful.
Another one? There is already the MGS Essentials Collection and the HD Collection
BPoole96
They're probably going to pull a God of War and just re-release the old collection with the PS3 game and a PSN voucher for MGS included.

Grey. Goddamn. Fox. His voice lacks the hint of madness the original VA brought to the character. The remake version sounds too vanilla by comparison.
As for cutscenes, Snake kicking a rocket still stands as the pinnacle of stupidity in the series.
I actually bought a Gamecube for Twin Snakes. Still wonder to this day why the graphics were so bad on such a powerful system at the time.

Yeah, they swapped the VAs. Mei Ling and Naomi also lost their accents in the new version.
And regardless of whichever is more silly, the cutscene additions still add nothing to the game. Metal Gear Solid is relatively grounded, arguably the most grounded in the series, so the rocket-kicking stuff just feels out of place.
Metal Gear Solid 3.

define "exaggerated" because I don't remember Snake dodging any bullets in slow motion in any of the games. And the VA is indeed of lower quality. I mean, the only reason the OG VA returned was because Hayter put half of his paycheck to pay them!
Twin Snakes is exactly what MGS1 would have been if it were made a few years later with better technology. Because that's exactly what it is. MGS1, made a few years later with better technology. Anyone saying otherwise is hopelessly blinded by a nostalgic connection to... nothing.
the_bi99man
Not really man. Â There are differences that could easily make a person prefer one over the other. Â You'll find that more MGS fans prefer the original tbh.
Before I state the differences let me say I do not give a sh*t either way. Â I cant bring myself to play either game anymore, so it doesnt matter to me.
Â
Beyond that, there are many other differences in the script, the voice acting (this is almost completely different) and even in the music.
But I don't want to bog you down with a 5 page essay about it.
Â
The point is, TTS is not just the better game in every way. Â From purely a gameplay perspective it is considerably worse. Â But there are literally hundreds of pros and cons between the two games and saying TTS is the best by default is simply untrue.
EDIT: Â Almost forgot! Â Kojima specifically asked the guys at Silicon Knights to make TTS a MUCH different experience. Â He didnt want it to be just MGS with slightly newer tech. Â And they followed his orders well.
Id really like to own a complete MGS saga, as Ive played them sparced out over several consoles.... I wont buy an HD MGS without MGS1 in it though... That was the best one.
TheEroica
I'm guessing this one will include a download code for getting MGS from the marketplace and 2/3/peacewalker/4.

It's like Platinum devs watched the Shining for the first time ever and said "this is dope ****, let's put it in our game".

much like the gf stuff, you power through and forget it :P i like rising but the whole Jack the ripper aspect could have been pulled off a whole load more tastefully in my eyes.It just felt rushed and under developed from a story aspect since the whole tone in even 2 is a lot more serious in the whole Jack the Ripper backstory, mind you MGS is campy, hillarious and just complete nonsense and tbh its what makes it MGS even if it doesnt make any sense sometimes.
Oh, are they actually going to put Twin Snakes on the PS3 this time?Gue1Â nobody wants that abomination as part of any Metal Gear collection. Exagerated is one thing. Â Taking your main series protagonist completely out of character via actions and attitude is completely different. Â As over the top as the series gets, Snake has always been relatively grounded. Â TTS is the only MG game that completely goes against this.
The voice work is arguable. Â Considering that the VA in TTS is what they ended up using for the rest of the series, I would guess that Kojima found it to be an improvement.
You just need to take off the Nostalgia Goggles. It gives off the same feeling you get when playing Metal Gear Solid for the first time.
Darth_Kane
Yes because having an extreme ninja Snake has SO much to do with nostalgia. Ninja Snake is SO similar to the one in the sequels.
I recently replayed MGS1 and sure I can see it has aged, but I care about story more than graphics and gameplay
I played Twin Snakes first and PS1 version second.
LegatoSkyheart
That's probably your problem. It's like when people say the Star Wars prequels are better than the originals. It's laughable
and this is comparible to those who are butt hurt over the Revised Star Wars movies because George Lucas thought it would be nice to update them.
(EXCEPT THE ORIGINAL IS STILL AVALIBLE TO THOSE CURIOUS ABOUT HOW IT ORIGINALLY PLAYED.)
and really the Exaggerated Cutscenes didn't destroy the game, Like I said when I beat the game in the playstation version I still felt more triumphant than I did when first playing it on the Gamecube.
The only things that were glaringly different in the game for me was actually Mei Ling's voice, and that was mostly because I was so used to MGS2 Mei Ling. Not to mention the voice in the PS1 game made Mei Ling sound very Stereo typical. Thought it was lame at first, but after awhile I grown to love it, it was great.
But thinking any sudden change destroys the entire game is just flat out stupid, cause it didn't change. The Game still has the same themes, the same characters, the same everything.
MGS if my most beloved game series,
i already own the HD collection so this feels like a quick cash grab,
i want Kojima to remake MGS1, and no the Twin Snakes is not a fvking remake! that game is a complete joke, snake doing backflips and matrix style kung fu, ughh.

Could not have agreed more!very true how they made GrayFox so epic (although his original voice was much better + music)
but what they did to snake was horrific, we need Kojima and ONLY Kojima making Metal Gear games.

GrayF0X786
And somehow Cutscenes make the game irrelevant.
How about Raiden picking up a freakin' Metal Gear and Tossing it aside?
How about that Vamp in MGS2?
Volgun, and his Static Electricity, wtf.
The Metal Gear Solid franchise is full of wtf moments. How is Twin Snakes any different? If anything Twin Snakes made the First Metal Gear Solid game more in line with the rest of the series. MGS1 on PS1 is the odd ball.
.. . It's hard to play back MGS1 .... the control system are not relevennt anymorehippiesantaYou had to sig THAT video featuring THAT GUY, did you? :| :P
