Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Is T, Kojima Wishes It Was E For Everyone

Most Metal Gear Solid games are rated "M" by the ESRB in North America. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is shooting for a broader audience since it's being designed as a "T" rated title.

What does that mean? No blood, but the game's plot is still serious. Hideo Kojima explains more in a tweet.

"This time around we wanted to go for a 'T' rating since it's on the PSP. There is no bloodshed effects so the younger crowd can enjoy it as well. But the MGS world and theme lives on. The script is seriously written…anti-nuke and anti-war with the nuclear deterrence theory as the backbone. Wish it could of been 'E.'"

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is rated CERO C in Japan, which means its for ages 15 and up. So, one of the differences between an ESRB "T" and "M" rated Metal Gear Solid game is blood. What would an "E" rated Metal Gear Solid game be like then? Would everyone carry super soakers?

I think hes crazy to think this. If he wanted it to be E for everyone then it would have to be a much different game.

What mentality? MGS is one of those game series where blood wouldn't make a difference if it was in or out. Although I prefer it have blood, that doesn't detract from the actual MGS story and game itself if it didn't have blood.

Ooo, oh, nice try. But after all the whole scene pressed on action and surprise development . Personally I was more impressed from the moving flash line coming from the Fox's suit.Peace Walker yet again will have comics-like cut scenes, meaning a whole different feel of what's going on. I think the gameplay will lack blood but I hope they've managed to sneak somethin at least a little bit gory in the comics scenes just for the taste of it. It's a game about a war after all...

I don't see how shooting someone in the head and the difference between T and M being the blood that comes out. Maybe if it was with a Nerf gun and it was shooting a cartoon bunny... but I assume this game will maintain the same styIe as the other MGS games.

disigners usually base their disigns on either group they want to atract , what its going to be used for, or what it needs to have inorder to be qualified as great. ect.

games are also a form of art, and as we know art dosent have rules, imagination, creativity are the keys here.

while a game disigner needs a litle of both, they need to make the game playable.

and some of them are willing to make the gameplay suffer for the art itself, the statment

i wouldnt consider Kojima to be one of them, unlike Suda51 :P so i feel its natural for him to base his game around something.

even if im not sure the age rating is a great idea, in my opinion, but it will make more people able to play and enjoy the game.
