But the 3DS has 3D as well as improved textures over the HD and original version. The only thing console users have is higher resolution and a few other non-graphical features. Your still stuck with the with the same old textures

It's a petty rip-off, if it's not a new engine and doesn't have worthwile new content. What are those other stuff anyway? I might change my mind.

I guess i've ben spoiled by modding old games to look like current generation games, for free. Its a shame Sony relinquished their backward compatability and didn't support it to the fullest, i would have had a reason to buy a PS3, and could have sold my PS2.

Looks good but I'm not playing Snake Eater for a fourth time. And, don't shoot Yoshi.

So in other words you are shelling out for a port which you have played already. Thats hilarious, friggin hilarious. Yes they might be great games but you are still getting ripped off which isnt a "MYTH" its "FACT" as Konami are doing a Capcom with rereleasing everything under the sun and hoping idiots buy it again and again and again and again and again.... Give it couple years and there be a better collection released.

Achievements are a joke, improved textures add nothing to gameplay, HD doesnt improve gameplay so why add such trivial things to a argument is pathetic. None of those are big enough reasons to buy a old game.

What has kept you from buying the trilogy then.. they are all so cheap to get these days. I've bought them all recently, and i think MGS 1 is one of the best games of all times, wile MG2, wile being fantastic did not live up to what masterpiece the original is. I'm half way trough MGS3, and so far, so good, i like seeing who Big Boss really was.

You should get MGS1 if you are even interested in the series, the story and characters is the height of the series, up until now, from what i have played.

And the music tracks in the original are .. perfection.

i'm guessing you didn't play the upgraded version of the game (subsistence or something like that? lol) it mapped the camera to the right analog stick and allowed you to control the camera

People are talking about the hd collection making this game worthless, but wasn't MGS3 3D supposed to be a remake?

It looked that way a year ago, however this trailer looks pretty much exactly like PS2 graphics engine for the game. That is disapointing. I hope we hear more, better things, from this game next week.

I think I will purchase this.

I already played MGS3 on the PS2 and I still might purchase the MGS HD Collection but only for Peace Walker since that is the only one I didn't play yet.

Contradiction FTW. You told someone theyre pretty much buying garbage in comparison to this collection. So dont come here telling me to do things when you dont know people yourself and tell them what to like. Fact is your buying a repackaged product of something which is already on the market and has been for several years just because it adds some little gimmicks and is in HD just like how the 3DS version adds the gimmick of 3D.

No. Its the same experience. Its not adding anything to the immersion or any of this crud which people keep yelping. A good game is going to be good whether its in HD or SD and if you are paying too much attention to how pretty the Leaves on the Flowers look in HD then you should be playing a Leaf Simulation Game rather than actual games.

Achievements are the biggest load of turd this gen. You are going to waste money upon achievements lol!! Wouldnt it be much more of a achievement to play and finish the games which you can do now than wait for a such a trivial thing like killing 20 people by sneaking up on them or maybe getting 10 cats to urinate on your box. Yeah, it seems like while the HD collection is mostly just about remastering the game graphically, the 3DS version is focused more on gameplay refinement. Plus, we still know barely anything about this game.

MGS3DS actually has new assets. The guys at KP actually went in there to remodel and retexture a lot of the game, plus we may see a bit of new content.

The new HD collection is a lazy port.

I probably wont be buying either, but as a guy who has played Snake Eater and Subsistence over 50 times I'd pick the 3ds version.
