Metro Last Light vs. Crysis 3:Heavyweight battle for the visual throne (no 56k)

With the release of Metro Last Light in all it's stunning visual fidelity we may have a challenger against the juggernaut that is Crysis 3 in the visuals department. So now is your time to vote System Wars which you think rightfully deserves the title as king of the graphics playground.

They are pretty close. But whichever game ends up winning, PC gamers win for already being able to experience next gen graphics.

I honestly think Metro looks better. I feel the screenshots you chose for both games don't do either justice though.

Metro LL has its moments, but Crysis 3 looks better than Metro LL, and it looks better more often.

They're both fantastic looking but I'd say Crysis 3 is more consistent (Metro's character models are a bit hit and miss). Metro's atmosphere is amazing though and some of the little touches are incredible. I'd say Crysis is better looking but not by much.bobbetybob

I loooove how detailed Metro's world is.

For example there is this critter shooting range in venice that you can partake in. After you shot all the critters you can actually see a women cleaning up all the bloodstains you left behind :lol:

Crysis 3 may be technically better, but Metro is the better game!

Yeah I saw that, and you can give the teddy you win to a little boy who lost his, the towns are really cool. And I'm glad they managed to get the difference between cool eccentricities and crappy ones right this time, there were a lot of annoying little things in 2033 that they ironed out in this (having to pick up every lot of bullets individually, the mask/filters system being absolutely insane, weapons having melee instead of sights but the melee being pointless) without removing any of the charm.bobbetybob

Actually that teddy bear was stolen by the people running that shooting gallery. I returned it to its rightful owner too. There are more nice things you can do like that. Makes me wonder if there will be multiple endings like in 2033.

Agreed, this is an amazing sequel to an already great game. The best FPS I have played this year.

This is what swayed me for Metro. I just love the overall look of it more. Even though I know Crysis 3 is doing more under the hood. The artstyke in Crysis 3 is awful and everything looks so monotone.

I haven't played either yet but from what iv seen I'd of gameplay vids id say crysis 3. That could change tho once I see them in 1440p thoGamingVengeance

I thought you meant this game wan't that good by saying it holds your hand too much and is basically COD with a rechargeable flashlight. But you do think it's good as you are playing it again, right ? ^^

So same as with Metro 2033: you really had to do all the nice stuff that was in the game to get the good ending.

I never liked the look of Crysis 3. I haven't played the game yet, but all the footage I've seen just doesn't look that appealing. It might technically be awesome, but I find games like Last Light and Halo 4 a lot more appealing to look at.

I think Metro LL had better lighting effects than Crysis 3, but overall, Crysis 3 looked better and had greater attention to detail--likely a result of their larger budget.

I haven't finished LL but Crysis 3's art impressed me more. Its high points - the fields, the flooded sections of the dam level, the park - are incredible. It looks a lot better in motion too.

They're both bland as hell sometimes.

In an ideal world Stalker 2 would look like a mix of the Crysis 3 fields and the Metro exterior levels.

Metro Last Light is the Better game, as far as graphics go, awwww they both look great, don't really care to care about comparing them graphically, ask a hermit lol, they will have more insight about graphics in these games.

even if last light is the better looking game. once some serious graphic mods come out for crysis 3 it will retake the throne mods greatly improved the graphics for crysis 1 and 2 so its safe to assume they will for the third as wellGamingVengeance

lol, that was just nonsense. Although the part with Pavel, or any part where you have to work with someone is very hand-holdy. You can't stray 5 inches of your path or the AI will start screaming "ARTYOM" "ARTYOM". Kinda annoying.freedomfreak

That I completely agree with. They keep hurrying you up while you want to explore the environment more for pages of the diary, bullets or other usefull stuff.

The parts without AI can be really scary though, like that swamp level, made me wish an AI partner was around to hold my hand, haha :P

Is there a mod that improves the lighting of C2 ? Because the lighting in Crysis 3 and Metro LL look way better and more realistic than in Crysis 2.

I haven't played either game but isn't Crysis 3 noticeably better looking?

That said, it is impressive how good Metro Last Light looks considering the game's budget is likely nowhere near that of Crysis 3.

And for me those are the ONLY levels in Crysis 3 that look good. The later levels all look crap. Except the very last one. It's really clear where Crytek spent time on levels and where they didn't.Metro felt a little more together and consistent in that regard. 

The grass level in Crysis 3 is still mightily impressive though and I wish more of the agme looked like that

I'm surprised how much off the beaten path stuff there was there. You could literally drive passed ALL of that and continue the story and it would have taken 3 minutes. Instead you were able to get off lots and turn 3 minutes in 30 minues (or more). I was impressed
