The same is also true for a PC with HD7850(or equivalent), if you want 1080p/60fps in metro you have to pay the price, and that is lowering the graphics settings.

Speak for yourself. I played the beta almost obsessively and even almost had half a set of level 10 blue gear set aside by the time they closed the beta. It was pure gaming nirvana in my opinion!

They did a deal with both console makers to keep the game off PC? Nobody said they don't do deals, like for the timed DLC sony is getting or the deals with MS on timed DLC for COD. You have no evidence for the sort of deal you suggested, however. And, it doesn't make any logical sense.

Reality is, console is priority for the blockbuster, record-breaking games like Destiny, GTA5. Steam sale and pirate culture don't cut it compared to the history-making money they earn on playstation/xbox.

Huh, no wonder it seemed like Metro 2033 looked better in some parts than the redone version (before this patch) in that one comparison video gamespot put up (or was it gamespot?). Sucks that the console versions don't have tessellation--Metro has always done an amazing job with tessellation. I am surprised they didn't just bring it down to 30fps to put those features in though.

Although depressive that the PS4 needed those cutbacks, I would still say keeping it at 60 fps is the right call pretty much every single time in an FPS game.

Also, Metro games have features that are NVIDIA specific, meaning neither of the new consoles could replicate everything on an NVIDIA-based PC no matter how much power they had. The Digital Foundry interview said that the console version offer settings between medium and high if I recall correctly. Considering how nice the game looks, I think that's impressive for a $400 console. My video card alone cost more than that.

I still find the console version to be a better option for most. I know my PC struggled with it and I have a GTX 760 and a laptop with a GTX 660m. Desktop can play at high, but definitely not at a consistent 60fps and my laptop can play at a mix of medium/high. I applaud them for optimizing the console versions to be able to play at 1080p 60fps.

Obviously if you make a game from scratch on the new hardawre it will use newer graphics technology but they will always have to tone down stuff. Too bad exlusives dont have a pc vesrion so they can be exposed as well.

people should celebrate Metro Redux because it's a good game, PS3 never got 2033, and they made upgrades to 2033 to improve it's original flaws

Plenty of better looking games on PS4 both released and upcoming. Besides, it's not like PS4 couldn't do them in 1080p/30 and then some.

The volumetric lighting looks nice in some areas but looks overdone in other areas. Either way, Redux looks great on PS4 and thats all that needs to be said.

I'm playing Metro 2033 on the Xbox One and the game has been improved alot more than the 360 version.
