@jaydan: Ignoring what's in front of you ain't gonna help. And when you think about it, it makes sense. We both know that Nintendo has always suffered with Metroid, so changing the direction must've been their only option.

In all seriousness: I expect some significant evolution in Metroid Prime 4.
Just look at pretty much every major Nintendo release on the Switch: the vast majority of their games during the Switch era have made major evolutions or changes to the formula.
From BotW/TotK completely revamping the Zelda franchise, to the unprecedented task of building the largest character roster in Smash Bros. Including the difficult licenses to keep in the game, to Animal Crossing introducing terraforming and a whole new level of customization previously unseen in the series, to Kirby having his first 3D outing, etc.
I'm pretty sure Metroid Prime 4 will be a lot more than just your standard sequel. I could imagine it bigger and better than ever. I find Soulsborne games to be highly inspired by the Metroid franchise, and I can see this as Nintendo coming back and being inspired by Soulsborne games.
That's the best-case scenario. I just don't see the Halo comparison as much as I see Soulsborne and Metroid comparable.
@hardwenzen: So salty as usual. Don't worry dude, you'll get some games on PS soon. Eventually. Some day.

Metroid Prime has yet to break the 3 million mark, so they're definitely going to try to expand the audience. Obviously the usual Metroid Prime fans will buy this game. Though their goal is to get people like me, or others like me. People who aren't normally into Metroid. They need that Zelda: BOTW growth.

I will get them, yes. You will get a Halo with a Metroid skin, tho.
Lol salty haters in this thread! Game looks great and we only saw like 2 minutes from the whole game. Comparing it to Halo is actually ridiculous cause both games are different. Ofc hardwenzen doesn't know so I forgive him 😊
The game is going to be amazing when it releases and will cause some good butthurt among haters 😎
Thought it looked pretty good. Clean graphics, silky smooth 60 fps, good music. Seems to be coming along nicely.
Where's the atmosphere at, tho? That looked like an action game a la cod/halo, not what Prime was.
At the end of the trailer.
"Looks like Halo" is something people have said since Prime 1. It's still dumb and just makes you sound unaware.
Thought it looked pretty good. Clean graphics, silky smooth 60 fps, good music. Seems to be coming along nicely.
Hoping for a good blend of exploration, boss battles and puzzles.
It looks good b because its by Nintendo otherwise you would be complaining about this game LOL!.

Why do I constantly complain about Metroid Prime 3 then? And many other Nintendo games?
never seen you complain about any Nintendo titles.
you complain about Doom dark ages now compare that to this shitty metroid game lol.

I don't think you visit Nintendo threads very often then.
Doom Dark Ages looks weird. Like they're focusing on melee combat. That's not Doom. Hence, weird.
Metroid Prime 3 sucked enough for me to not finish it. Gone was the sense of isolation. Gone was the ability to change beams, and the fun combat strategy that came with it. You had to talk to freaking NPCs. And you were suppoed to care what the lame other Hunters from Metroid Prime Hunters (a game no one cares about) were doing. MP1&2 were great, MP3 was dissapointing.
And don't get me started on Zelda: Skyward Sword. **** that game.

OMG Doom Dark ages looks bad because because while metroid 4 looks good because Nintendo tag despite looking like mediocre Halo clone.
Dark ages looks Freaking masterpiece. even remove glory kills. refreshing Doom formula otherwise it would get stale.
every Doom game is different from each other.
Phffft...
Halo 4 was the undisputed graphics king that gen. 343i rocks hard baby!! :D
Whereas this game will look like a dumpster fire in comparison. lol :P

Another point that must be made that I'm certain Hardwenzen does not know: Metroid Prime 4 appears to be a direct continuation from where we last left Samus.
Anyone that's following the Metroid lore is pumped to see Sylux at the end of the trailer. But for all Hardwenzen knows, he most likely thought Sylux is some random new character when in reality Metroid Prime 3 ended with Sylux hunting down Samus in a cliffhanger ending.
This confrontation has been a long-time waiting for most fans. Compare it to Halo all you want, but real Metroid fans following the lore are beyond excited.
Here's a little lore to catch you up, Hardwenzen:

It has never looked like Halo as much as it does now. Even the damn color palette is the same. They're going overboard with this one.
@hardwenzen: Better than no games at all 😉
But that's the thing you trying your best to ignore, the ps5 gets all the exclusives on the horizon, while you get nothing on the Switch. The ps5 has way more titles to play than your Switch lol. Casual 10/10 expansion that is bigger than full games in two days. Do you have that on your Switch? Of course not, you have nothing.
It did gave me some Halo 4 vibes, which isn't a bad thing.
Whatchu mean its not a bad thing? Not only is it one of the worst halo titles, Metroid should never be a Halo-like, a CoD-like or a BF-like.

Not sure why this is the hill you wanna die on, but all you're doing is proving how much you don't know Metroid.
So what are you basing this on, the alien environment? Every other Metroid game has industrial locations like this and a grassy regions. Looks very in line with the esthetic of the previous games.
You completely ignore all the unique Metroid gameplay quirks present in the trailer, and the continuation of the story with Sylux.
I guess when you base everything on the look of a game and not the game itself, ignorance is the safe hill to die on.

Everything shown. Color palette, enemies animations that already looked like Elites, setpieces shown in this trailer, the way enemies react to you and so on. If she didn't transform into a ball, this is straight up Halo 4 with a lock on mechanic.
@hardwenzen: Those are literally Space Pirates from the first game, they behave the same way they always have and they look the same design as well. Color palette looks cohesive with the rest of the series.
Again, you don't know shit about what you're talking about.

Yes yes, i know, but when you look at the whole package, the trailer shown, with the way everything looks and the way they react, you could very easily mistake this for being Halo 4.
And listen, i get, it annoys you that this game looks more Halo 4 than what you would've liked, but if you have any complaints, complain to Nintendo, not a cow with a beautiful PS5.

As someone who likes Halo 4, I say this isn't a bad thing and I'm always glad both Halo and Metroid Prime aren't rivals, but take good inspiration from one another. Metroid Prime is all about explorations, power-ups, and shooting stuff just to get by. Halo is a war alien game.
I'm super excited for Metroid Prime Beyond. Having Halo 4 vibes is a bonus for me👌
(Never change hardwenzen)
@hardwenzen: Whatever floats your boat, lol. At least you provide the laughs to the real fans, which you are not.
I planned to borrow the Switch just to play the new Metroid, and you're calling me a fake fan? That's just not fair, i don't appreciate it.
@hardwenzen: Dude, you know what's hilarious!? In another thread about who had the better showing, MS or Nintendo, I described Nintendo as a show in tell for Kindergarteners. LOOOOOOOOOOOL. And you used the same word to describe their showing. LOOOOOOOOOOOOL

It has been over 5 years since i assocciate Nintendo's showing with my local kindergarten🤗Just the way all their narrators speak to describe their games, no shot its made adults, not even a teen. Straight up aiming for the 8yo and under.
@jaydan: yup. We need to give hardwenzen a break, it's been really tough supporting Sony's State of Play against MS and Nintendo shows.

I didn't support it. Their state of play broke my heart.

It's ok bro, Sony is rock bottom right now but they will bounce back 😊
Just do as I do, buy all systems and enjoy all games. Believe me, it will change your life 😁

Litchie in general.
Game X is bad because. Remake is bad (despite improve everything from original) because.
but game with Nintendo tag are amazing. even they are ubisoft style open world titles like new Zelda games. or now Halo style poor FPS like Metroid 4.
Love how people can judge an entire game atmosphere out of a one minute trailer reveal.
You didn't get it. Its Metroid. Why won't your first trailer be atmospheric, showcasing the cool environment, environmental sounds these games used to have, and a fitting soundtrack? Because Nintendo is taking a different approach with this game. You don't want to hear this (obviously), but Nintendo is tired of this IP not being profitable. Metroid 4 is going more dudebro action, and it makes sense. Remember how they rebooted their development years ago? Their first attempt was most likely the real deal, but real deal, just like Prime, didn't do well. So just like EA and Dragon Age, the project was rebooted to please as many as possible. Thing is, this will never work, and at the end, just like DA, they'll end up pleasing no one.
Love how people talk like if they knew something about anything.
Say hi to your dad who works in Nintendo.
@jaydan: yup. We need to give hardwenzen a break, it's been really tough supporting Sony's State of Play against MS and Nintendo shows.
Felt that Astro Bot carried the whole State of Play but overall, the whole show was lackluster but glad I kept my expectations really low.
Sony sure is behind of things.
@hardwenzen: Bro why are you even hiding behind @ghosts4ever: the same guy that became an emotional crybaby the other week in the Lounge because no one bows down to him or his love for Stalker 2.
Ghosts is literal big crybaby and you're hiding behind him.
We know you got roasted in this thread Wenzen, but you can do better than that. How can you even take anything he says seriously when he thinks John Wick is peak cinema LOL!!

My dad worked at Microsoft, not Nintendo, and i know much better about Metroid than he does. Sorry.

Jonathan wick is better than shit before trilogy you praise.
Since this game is going the Halo route, i wonder if we'll be riding a Warthog-like vehicle in this one. Split screen coop with my buds, all drinking some Corona Light, you feel me?
