Metroid Prime 3 FLOPP?

What are you rambling on about?, Metroid Prime scored 9.6, Corruption is just as good and scores 8.5, it makes no sense. And a game doesn't have to reinvent the wheel to be AAA, if that were true then only about 10 games in history would be AAA.

9.6 way back when? Sequals always score less, this obviously due to the hardware and no focus on making it truly outstanding in anything but controls just dropped it dramatically, 8.5 is a little low ... but then again, its about time a nintendo franchise wasnt put on such a high pedistal...

I bet youl all be whining if Mario Galaxy only recieves a 9 and no editors choice. , and the obviose hype-flop that is smash bros brawl.

The gaming market is getting flooded particulally this year, it has to be compared with other games, critics should be tougher not throwing around 10/10s zomg its better than the last! crap.

AA is great, its all well and good enough, AAA standards should be increasing, because we have practically played everything before.

Metroid Prime Coruption has done nothing but improve over the original! Better graphics easie and more intuative controls and they have changed gameplay elements that casued some problems in the series. So why is it that the game can't get a 9.0 and above. Its not worse that the original Prime infact it improves greatly.

Oh and If mario recives a 9 I wont be whining unless gamespot has a good reason too. I will if every other site gives the game a 9.6-10 and Gamespot decides to be "tough" and lower the score. And I dont think anyone expects smash Bros to ge anything above a 9.0.

I dont belive the game should get a 10/10 Its not perfect it has its flaws but to give it an AA rating based upon the things he mentions seems wrong. Every other site seems fine with the game and even mentions its flaws still giving the game a great rating why is gamespot so different?

Whats so bad about being less strict? As long as you enjoy the game why should something that doesn't really affect you bring down the score? The game has no multiplayer. Metroid was never meant to have multiplayer. It was meant to be a great single player game

Its simple, obviously sequals are going to have more refined features, more features , better features, better graphics, BUT it not always to its best potential, and more often than not its only about 20% new except the main story-line.

In this case, I admit the score is too low compared with other reviews, but its nice to show some mortallity in Nintendo first party, after all, how many games of each exist now?

and about Mario Galaxy, well alot of sheep are putting it up for a GOTY contender , seeing these reviews though ... it could still be ... but it would be a long shot.

I'm starting to hate how people can act so elitist just cos a system doesn't have as good graphics.

Don't pretend that 8.5 isn't a BAD score. You have to go through 19 pages of games on Gamespot, each page containing 60 games, to get to Metroid Prime 3.

Metroid Prime 3 is the 1140th ranking game on Gamespot!

That doesn't mean that Metroid flopped. It means that Gamespot flopped.

I wish that there where 1140 games that where better than Metroid Prime 3, but there aren't. What kind of a world is Gamespot living in? :roll:

Oh well, doesn't surprise me, Lemmingspot gave a game that recieved 9.5 and above everywhere but here, got a low score.

While Perfect Dark Zero got overrated here, yet everywhere it flopped.

Nice alt account and get over it. Many games flop here, many. I think it got 8.5 due to the fact it brought really nothing new to the game series. Look 8.5 is great but with the new scoring system here, I have a real feeling that AAAs around here are going to get less and less. What about Bioshock? Why would "Lemmingspot" under rate a game that is on the 360? Everywhere else has it higher. Your post lacks logic. Sorry your game flopped but I still plan on buying it.

They underated Bioshock, games like it are so rare these days. There has to be a better meter for the efforts developers put into games.

But in any case I'd rather have this site underrate everything slightly than blow sunshine up our asses about every game like IGN does.

Now a 7.8 score for Crackdown was a bad score given to a great game; Crackdown should of scored a 8.5 - 9.0 if like sheep are saying, this is lemmingspot.

With Bioshock and MP3 getting a 9 and 8.5 repectively, my gut tells me they have seen and tested enough of Halo 3 to know that when they review the retail version they would have to give Halo 3 a 10 and they dont want to do that !!!

So a 9.5 needs to be saved for Halo 3 IMHO.

Lilac, don't you think that due to the fact it is a new gen and there are new standards and a new scoring system that these equate to the score. Several people were heated about Bioshock. I think this new scoring system will be even harsher on games. I think also that the lack of "newness" (bringing something new to the series) hurt it as well. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but do you really think GS has an agenda against the Wii?

The past scores have nothing to do with present and future scores.

If that were the case then Gears 2 would have to recieve a 10 to surpass Gears at 9.6 and thats not gonna happen.

While it's true that it didn't bring anything new to the series look at their beloved Halo. Halo 2 did absolutely nothing new. Even the most rabbid Halo fanboys have trouble saying it brought anything new to the series and it only scored .3 less than the first. Not even though to take the series from 9.5 to 9.0.

MP3 on the other hand introduces the most responsive, accurate, and intuitive controls for any console FPS ever. Adds more traditional FPS elements, better boss battles, better puzzles, great atmosphere, and has the best graphics on the Wii thus far, all while staying true to the series. Whichtook the series fromMP1 -9.5 (on the new review system, it was a 9.7) toMP3 -8.5. Now if that doesn't make you question something, somewhere, thenthere's something wrong.

Ummm, don't know how to tell you, but Halo 2 brought a lot new to the table. The MP portion alone helped it. And trying to use examples from the old scoring system is not applicable here. You may not agree with the score, but nothing is going on here.

This is not about pleasing fans, obviously. ;) It is about giving their objective review on a game. You don't have to agree but to suggest something is rotten in Denmark is going a little too far, IMO.

Agreed. As much as I hate the last two reviews from Gamespot (BioShock and MP3), I would still take their reviews over IGN's any day of the week.
