Hopefully EA don't mess with the talent

Ninty lost one huge dev, they don't care though (the MP series didn't sell that good)

-sighs- There is no room for small devs this gen...dev costs are high plus companies like EA are monopolizing the industry. Makes you wonder what games we kind of tellen we could be seeing if it weren't for these problems...I wouldn't mind fresh titles with the quality of The Witcher or Stalker on consoles from some newer devs.

I can't believe it! What the hell is nintendo doing? Don't limit these developers to doing your old franchise only! Allow them to work, push your hardware, and come up with new ideas!!! But I guess they don't get it. That's why I got my a ps3 and 360.

In my Wii - nada, PS3 - MGS4, X360 - Halo3

Get mad at me for you not posting a link.

And yes, you were lying. This is a new studio founded by three ex-Retro people (seemingly rather significant such though) signing with EA, not Retro getting signed by EA. Doesn't Retro have a contract with Nintendo? Yeah Nintendo owns the studio even. So that'd be sort of stupid for them to suddenly sell it out of nowhere for no good reason.

Armature. Geth Armature!

This is partially why you should always post a link btw.

"Ex-members of Metroid Prime developer Retro Studios have formed Armature Studio"

Not current Retro Studios members.

well, I think is 90% ninty fault, they could have bought this dev a long time ago, and they have a lot, I mean A LOT, of money to invest in this quality type of devs

Retro is owned by Nintendo, its just that the disgruntled employees who left have formed a new company and signed on with the Devil

They have a lot of talent, now a little raw power

This Armature thing is based on some weird, funky model where they're dependent on external partners. I have no idea what they're talking about or how that's supposed to work, but I guess it will, or something. Strategic framework core development with creative business flexibility shoebox chimney.

Well i happen to love what Hideko Kamiya and co are doing with PlatinumGames. They are embracing the power of the 360/PS3 yet are exploiting the uniqueness (yeah its a fake word = P) of the Wii. Madworld looks incredible, and given his decorated past, you can expect Bayonetta to be one of the biggest action games of thos gen.

This is a company that has gone big from the start and has kept everyone happy, they deserve to become a big dev one day

Hurray for lack of stupid vague happy business terms that mean nothing. Sounds like it could result in crazy, mad xtreme games if it works. But I just realized I don't know how games are normally conceptualized, prototyped, approved and all that, so I may not know what I'm talking about. Not-Retro and EA seems to agree with me though.

Why does everyone assume if you sign on with EA your game will be crap, especially now with these days. I guess Left 4 Dead will be crap then. *shrugs*

So even though the developers are no longer in partenership with Nintendo, Ninty still holds ownership of the Metroid franchise? We won't be seeing any EA published Samus games, am I right?

1- EA is a damn good pub....better than activision....they have published some awesome projects

2- This isn't retro studios, but some devs that used to work there. It is a short dev house, that EA has purchased.....

Retro is still with Nintendo

While these guys are EA.

God, I hate you guys. Shame on the thread starter for your misleading thread title and explaination, and shame on the rest of you for failing to read beyond what is infront of you.

You want to know the outcome of this? An inferior product.
