Any one know the size of it?
It's installing now. I rub my nipples in anticipation...
lol.....how long did it take to DL?
Eh, a couple hours.
So, how long is this discount going to last?
Btw, has anyone found all those artifacts with special vision and whatnot on their own and without a walkthrough?
P.S. The second stage of the last boss fight was a bitch to finish. I almost thought I'd never do it.
It's better than Echoes, I liked the characters too, and the areas were great. Some bosses on the hardest difficulty are really annoying, that's the only flaw I can find.
@jg4xchamp: No area compares to the beginning of Corruption. GOAT material there.
What the part where it had a better alternative for the Pillar of Autumn than lame ass Halo? In comparison to its predecessor Corruption is a huge step backwards in the level design department. It looks terrific when measured against a majority of the FPS genre, but it's a far cry away from competing with the best of Prime 1 and 2.
I already have the Metallic Master Race edition.
Punch-Out!! is the only one I bought.
I still have the disc version, and still haven't finished Echoes or Corruption.
Echoes is so tedious it makes me NOT want to play.
I actually felt the same. Maybe that's why I love Corruption more than Echoes.
From best to worst:
1 Metroid Prime.
2 Metroid Prime Corruption.
3 Metroid Prime Echoes.
Disagreed. Not being able to change beam (which hurts strategic combat) and lots of chatty people (which hurts the atmosphere) brings down Corruption a lot for me.
1. Metroid Prime
2. Echoes
3. Corruption
I'm a huge Metroid fan, but I did not feel like playing Corruption further than a few hours in.
Wow playing Metroid Prime 1 again is amazing, the game holds up extremely well, I still think the graphics and what little effects they pull off are really nice still by todays standards, the music is amazing, just watching the screen distort as you send a charge shot through the air is magnificent. I really really want Retro to make a new Prime for the WiiU, these games have me so excited.

There weren't any beam switching (other than hypermode I guess) but thta was the basis, you have to be strategic, also it does use the same system from the classic metroid games in the sense that your beam gets upgraded as you advance. Prime 1 really does a great job at the different beam type of thing. But in contrast Echoes, uses an annoying ammo system as it becomes tedious to repelenish it.
Also Prime 1 was the lone adventure which was excellent, Corruption got the partner and federation thing right (that's why it needed VA I suppose) that IMO is not that intrusive. Echoes on the other hand, failed at both inmensely. Also the backtracking was tedious in that game. I was a miracle that I finished a playthrough of it once.
Can't believe they didn't do anything to improve it on Wii U... oh wait, yes I can, it's Nintendo after all. heck, I just got Titanfall with all DLC for 12 bucks, much better deal IMO. :P

Wow, mine took 36 minutes
Usually, it only takes something around that. Yesterday was one of Time Warner's shit days. Even Steam had difficulty connecting.
I own the disc, but may rebuy this just so i don't have to go into Wii mode anymore. It annoys me for some reason.
Meh, they didn't even improve the resolution.
PASS then. Why bother?
I sure hope you never buy any PS1 or PS2 classics on PSN because they don't bump the resolution on those either.

Need i say more?
For me personally I can play old games. Even SONY ones. I can go back about 1 gen and that's it. They look and play to antiquated. Too many current games to play and games from gen 7 I still want to play.

I dont really. If it's older than gen 7 chances are I wont play it no matter the platform, PC included. I've tried to play Fallout 1 again, System Shock, FF X, ect and the appeal isnt there.
@samusarmada: On the contrary, it's a far more complex and labyrinthine game than Prime ever was. Prime just gets points for the novelty- in terms of game design, Echoes is better in every possible way.
Echoes is hardly that much more labyrinthine. Agon Wastes has a pretty similar linear progression through it like Chozo ruins; and just by comparing their respective maps you can see how the dark world cuts out a lot of the complexity of the actual map by doubling over some of it.
The darkworld, by nature of being limited to a few sections of each area, is very linear as a result. The combination of the two spices up area progression slightly, but the effect one has on the other is minimal. I enjoy the darkworld for the challenge it poses, but I don't think it adds anything level design wise. Any complexity Echoes gains in other areas is also undercut by having to retread through the Temple Grounds after each area boss, diminishing the sense of natural progression Prime's gameworld more subtly evoked. It doesn't help that this area feels much more like a hub than, say, Tallon Overworld, which had a more distinct environmental look

There are so many current games to play and so little time to play them. There are still games on gen 7 I want to play. Why would I go back further?
@Heil68: Because games like Metroid Prime scored a 97 on Metacritic, Resident Evil 4 a 96, so on and so on.
Video games y'all.
oh ok, even though playing with wiimote and numchuck is garbage
Not when the game in question used it well. I loved the wiimote nunchuck controllers. It was so comfortable being able to separate my hands on my lap while playing certain games.

You'll be SHOCKED how well old games play. You're focusing solely on the visuals. When I played Metal Gear on the MSX I was STUNNED by how the game played JUST LIKE metal gear solid, only with 8 bit graphics. The games of today are built on those classic games.

No I'm not. Play system shock with all the mods and tell me its all about visuals. Antiquated mechanics and physics. They arent fun to play.
Wow, now I'm excited. Thanks for all the great replies to my question.
If you dislike backtracking, beware of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The amount of backtracking through its labyrinthic level design was insane, and its fucking ridiculous difficulty level didn't help the pace be as quick as it should have been. This game was created for hardcore Metroid enthusiasts that wanted a challenge, and unfortunately i'm not in that group. Game sucked major ass, personally.
Metroid Prime, on the other hand, was infinitely more approachable and had a much better variety with its visuals and environments. It still had a shit ton of backtracking that annoyed me, but its atmospheric world kept me glued. Metroid Prime is the most atmospheric in the series.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the most enjoyable in the series and the best to start with. It has far less backtracking then the other games, a more focused orientation on action rather than exploration and is generally more straightfoward. All of this might lead you to think that it's dumbed down, which is true, but not in a bad way. You see, Corruption is still far more complex with its level design than most first person games out there and had plenty of exploration to satisfy at least me. I recommend starting with Corruption.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the most enjoyable in the series and the best to start with.
Because it's the most bitch game of the franchise. Take out everything that makes Metroid interesting and special, and then turn it into a straight forward FPS. Game was built entirely to showcase the control, and less about the atmosphere, Metroid's brand of level design, or even remotely competing with the elite boss fights found in Prime 1 and 2.
The back tracking might be a bit more artificial in Prime 2 (it's perfectly fine in one), but that game is insanely more satisfying to play than Prime 3.
There are so many current games to play and so little time to play them. There are still games on gen 7 I want to play. Why would I go back further?
Because each good game is unique, regardless of similarities between them. Why would i care about current games if i myself want to play Sonic 3 & Knuckles? Newer Sonic games are not a carbon copy of it. I will not get the same experience by playing them over it. This example goes for every other good game. There is nothing like this pack of trilogy, neither is there anything els like the Galaxy series. There will be similarities, but it will never be the exact same experience.
It doesn't matter how back you go.. To be honest, i don't understand your logic.
I have no free time either. Sunday is my only freedom. :(
