Yea didint age as well gameplay wise but its still ok. The remake version had better gameplay but cutscene stuff was anoying dear god the matrix.

Haven't played it past the demo, but I doubt it'll top MGS3

Also hard to compare when it's quite different from previous ones.

Not sure if I played the same demo as everyone else, but that game is far from being the best in the series!

imo MGS4 is the best.

I think Metal Gear Solid 4 is, then Metal Gear Solid 3, then I'd say Rising, then 1 then 2.

I'm just assuming that those people who think this is the best Metal Gear are either newcomers or **** about the other Metal Gears being "boring" and a "movie instead of a game". In which case, their opinions don't really matter and are the reason why games suck these days.

Nope, not even close. It's a really good game on its own merits though, and is enjoyable to play through many times.

The game is amazing and I did indeed enjoy it lot mroe then any other MGS game (and I love stealt games aswell, just FYI).Why is that so unbelievable.Got to love people in denial, "INCONCEIVABLE., THSI CANT BE". Play the game. Its not like compering big rings and portal 2. MGR up there.

 

Btw Lol at people saying "based on the demo". It was 20 minuts are you freaking kidding me ? The cat at the end of the demo is really a generic enemy later on. You'r not even seen the boss fights.. wasn't that impressed whit the demo myself but the hole game is entirely different beast.

I've played MGS since it's initial PS1 outing, and no. I find a mix of elements to be best, and the demo for MGR just pushed the cheese... I'll buy the game, and wait to see, but I preferred the earlier Metal Gear games.

Ever since MGS3, MGS games have been known as action adventure games. Heck I would say that the first two games are action adventure as well. There are just so many moments in those game where you are doing crazy action stuff.

Both stealth and Hack'n'Slash are sub-genres of the action adventure. ActAdv is a broad genre. You cant compare those two games gameplay wise. And I still disagree. Both MGS3 and MGS4 are still much stealth driven

Love how the majority of people are like "judging by the demo" or calling it trash. I'm a huge metal gear fan, as 1 might be my favorite game of all time, but the sheer awesomeness of this game makes me way more excited for another Rising then a Solid. You guys should try maybe playing the game or stop expecting every game to hand feed you the final boss. This is a true gamers game.h575309

maybe under 8h if you rush, but mgs series always have so much content that if you finish it under 8h you are doing it wrong, plus almost all of the playtime is very high quality, so no, not even close.

and i stand by it, if you are rushing that trophy for the 100% it means youve already finished the game and seen most of its content. I also doubt it is under 5h but might be wrong.

After beating it I'd still say no. It's really good in spots, but the lack of a block makes certain segments of the game infuriating because trying to perry every f*cking thing is kind of taxing. Plus there is little sh1t like if you need to change items which feels kind of slow after you hit the d-pad. Warts aside though the games fun.

Combat has plenty of depth once you start unlocking enemies, the harder difficulties are hardly slouch territory(especially Revengeance), and the ghetto stealth segments are actually kind of fun(especially since even if you get alerted you can just slice and dice everyone). Some of the boss fights in this game are vundabar though. Monsoon and Sam are beast. Game doesn't stack up all that well against a Ninja Gaiden Black(or NG2s combat), Bayonetta, or Devil May Cry 3, but it's really good overall. Doesn't feel as drawn out as DMC 4, certainly has more interesting combat than the new DmC or a God of War, and the bosses make up for a lot of things. The shortness of the game is whatever as I usually get more annoyed when a game overstays its welcome. I do not think they could do a sequel of this game with samey mechanics though. It will need some overhaul in spots.
