Not even Halo 3/The Sims/SMG/GT1-4 or any other game has ever sold 1 million in 1 day. I expect the PS3 will have about 8 million consoles out by the time MGS4 comes out. I'll even say that MGS4 will move 500.000 console in it's first weekend but I wouldn't hold my breath on it moving a mill in a day.

KZ2 does look like it will be great, but its just dosent have the star power liek MGS has. The first KZ kinda flopped (im being generous) so its a unproven franchise, whilst MGS is a Proven Awesome franchise.

EDIT: I really don't see your problem with MGS going mutiplat. IfKomnai does then they have too. Imagin how hard it would be to make MGS5 (or whatever) if it bombs on the PS3.

Even if they did make MGS for the 360 it would take them porbably a year to port it. So, at the very least, it's a timed exclusive.

Both Resistance and Motorstorm sold over a million copies. And MGS is a bigger franchise than the ones you compare it to, you can't deny that. Still a million is a lot and I also don't think it'l sell it one day 1.

Not sure how many of those sales are from them being boxed with the PS3 (although RFOM was definately over a million before that I think)

I think Halo 3 was the closest thing to a world wide release with the exception of Japan (which came out two day later).

this is a diffrent case though, people are looking for a bigg game on ps3 and mgs4 is it. i just staed my opinion, i think if you have a ps3 right now, it shouel be for mgs4, and no ps3 owner should be with out it. im not saying that it will happen just saying thats the way it should be.

Agreed, it is only some kind of stunt pulled by Ryan to make sure gamers wake up from their coma and start buying games, it is great move to encourage gamers to buy it, MGS4 still gonna make a big first week sales, I think it will be between 1.5-2.0 million copies in first week.

Well I have no plan on purchasing MSG4 on the first day. I was going to but if I do not and others do not it may (but unlikely) be ported to other platforms. I personally think that is a good thing for the gaming industry and the developer.
