They were pondering making it multiplatform, yes.

But although it seems like the decision is up to Konami, but the decision is really up to Kojima. Kojima developes a game to take advantage of hardware and absolutely hates ports. A port is not going to happen, unless Konami wants to piss off Kojima in his last MGS game. That is a good way to get him to leave the company.

I think its good that Kojima is standing up to Konami its hard finding devs with principle these days

the publisher is in for the money. it is why u have these news/rumors coming up of it becoming multiplat. Konami is in it for the money, and ofcourse so is Kojima, they are basically saying they wont be able to make a big enough profit unless its multiplat. u cant deny thins, i wouldnt be surprised if it did go later on.

did you not watch E3? at sony's conference.. how he came out on stage, and it was VERY clear its PS3 exclusive.. not to mention he's said it many other times.. and oooh how MS didn't have anything on MGS4 at their conference. With Sony's price adjustment, it's selling much better and they have plenty of 60gb left to sell, by the end of the holiday, PS3's install base will be much larger reassuring Konami that they can stick with PS3 and still get strong sales.

Actually, I have an uncle who's friend's cousin's girlfriend works at Konami. She said that if they were to bring MGS4 to the 360, it would be severely limited by the DVD9. So in order for them to port MGS4, there would be a massive downgrade. She even provided me with some shots of MGS4 for the 360. I'll share one of Snake with SW:

You obviously don't know much about Hideo Kojima. Kojima denies and desnies rumors every other week of multiplatformness. Why don't people under stand this? MGS4 is more than just a game to Kojima, it's like his baby. He makes games specifically to take advantage of the systems hardware. Porting a game defeats that purpose and he doesn't believe in porting. He is completely against multiplatform games.

i know that the metal gear solid series has been playstation exclusive from the beginning, but i heard that for money reasons that konami is going to release the new MGS for multiple platforms. true? i've played all the other games on my ps and ps2 but now instead of ps3 i have a wii, so im hoping that i won't need a ps3 to play the new onegamer_fonze

Even if it did go multiplatform the Wii would never get a port of it. The downgrading required would be too ridiculous to even bother. I could see Konami making an offshoot game on Wii ala Umbrella Chronicles or something, but thats neither here nor there.

doubt its gonna b on 360...sum of the stuff in the game r only possible wit the PS3 CELL...not to mention that its on a 50gig blu-ray...(n baktrackin occurs in MGS games, itll get kinda stupid when u hav to insert another cd just to get to other areas)...the game will b downgraded HEAPS...n aint Kojima likeone of the top people Konami?? Na... as of now it is PS3 exclusive. However Konami is not very happy with the PS3, wich is definitely not a good thing... The only thing keeping MGS4 on the PS3 is Kojima.

In a way, I really don't see the problem... the only exclusive MGS in existence was MGS3, but Kojima feels that it must remain exclusive and so it must.

Konami have made the statement that MGS4 is being considered for multiplat, no question about it. Kojima hasmade bold statements about MGS4 on the PS3 long before the launch, long before he knew PS3 would flop. Backing down from those statements now would mean a huge loss of prestige, that's why hesends out other Konami officials to make that for him, and refuse to just say "it's never coming to the x360, end of story". I have a few friends in the same situation, they won't buy a PS3 until the game is actuallyreleased and 100% confirmed exclusive.

Metal Gear originally came out for the Nintendo, NES way back when, not for the playstation or playstion 2 just to clarify. I highly doubt it will come out for the Nintendo Wii but the xbox 360 is very possible.zeldafan00013
