Well deserved, awesome game.

The game represents the genre as its absolute peak (that being action/stealth, for pure stealth Thief 2 is still the reigning champ). People can always cry about how the game is "unfinished", but no other game in the series or genre plays as magnificently as TPP does. It's a game that gives you so much freedom and options that each experience is entirely personalized, and if you read between the lines it's quite clear the game is about passing on the legacy to the player to make their own path and their own stories. The game's design reinforces this notion. So while the story didn't close the loop to the satisfaction of fans (because that worked oh so well with MGS4), the sense of finality honestly couldn't be more apparent.
So yeah. Well earned!
All of this. ^
Also some good write ups on their end. Even the guys first statement.
"As a friend of mine put it recently, it was always the systems that made Metal Gear special, not the story."
**** yes. So many people are so ball twisted into the MGS story that they find it alien that some of us have always seen it like this. I didn't replay MGS games dozens of times over because I liked watching cutscenes. It was always about toying with the layered systems and seeing what was possible.
MGSV takes that appeal, injects it with steroids, and straps a fucking rocket to it.
