[QUOTE="musicalmac"]Not according to this site. Seems Tony Hawk 3 beat it out with a perfect score ;)MGS9150

Tony Hawk 3 was a perfect skate simulator, you cant compare its 10 or lets say Geows 9.6 or Killzones 6.9. Geow may PWN tony hawks 3, but tony hawks still got a better score because it was a better game for its genre. Thats why they changed the rating system, so people wouldn't try to compare apples to oranges.

Actually, I think they changed the rating system so they didn't have to justify the 0.1 differences between mutliplats.

I think they knew people would always compare apples and oranges.

[QUOTE="Wintry_Flutist"]MGS2 was a sad excuse to lazely remake MGS1. "But teh simulation to prepare Raiden!!!11" Damn, that was lame...Arjdagr8

wtf? you obviously didnt pay attention to the story properly. It was revealed that it wasnt a simulation to prepare raiden, since ocelot hadnt been told the whole truth. It was a model to test the AI of arsenal gear to see if it can handle, collect and alter data in extreme cases.

Oh yes, the good and old "you didn't understand/you don't know how to play".

Doesn't change the fact that MGS2 was a carbon copy of MGS1 (Foxhound = Dead Cell, Rex = Ray, Raiden = Snake, Liquid = Solidus, Gray Fox = Olga, even boss fights are similar, etc), which annoyed me through the whole game, and at the end Kojima tells us he wanted us to replay MGS1 on purpose, which we unfortunately did, no matter if this "simulation" was the final purpose.

MGS really fails to stack up to Splinter Cell in terms of stealth gameplay.  The shadows are way more immersive than hiding from radar cones, SC lets you play in the vertical to a much greater degree than MGS (try grabbing a pipe overhead in MGS), and the lean-out shot is much easier to pull off in SC.
I know that a lot of people love the depth of the story in MGS (I find the story distracting in MGS, since it's so over-the-top), and it certainly is more involved than SC's Clancy-lite plot, but in the end gameplay is what matters, and SC just takes it beyond MGS.
Lastly, I like that they're reinventing the stealth gameplay again in SC:Conviction - they're trying not to make the same game over and over.  MGS4 is expanding its gameplay as well (setting it in the middle of a battlefield), but it's a concept we've already seen in SC:Double Agent's Kinshasa levels.

The first Metal Gear Solid on the PS1 was the best game in the Metal Gear Solid series.
