Everyone is already calling NG2 a flop and not AAA here. Do people forget that EGM already gave NG2 game of the month not MGS4, so there may be some places ( Eurogame and 1up) that don't like NG2, but from what I can see it looks ike a great game and possibly better than MGS4. Mgs4 might be better just don't count out NG2 yet.redsoxrock88
What? that was proven false.
Actually 1up which is EGM btw, gave it a terrible score.
so far it is not reaching it's acclaimed status set by it's predecessor .
Did any non fanboys really think NG II was going to be a better game then MGS4? NG II basically flew under the radar for the past year.dru26
Better? No. Different? Yes. I can really see myself slowly enjoying the epicness that is MGS4. I also can see myself (esp. after a bad day) flipping on NG2 and slicing people left and right. If I had to chose one, I would go with MGS4. Thank goodness though I don't have to choose.

I agree with that. As an owner of both consoles, I've been waiting for MGS4 since Nov 06, NG II on the other hand basically was announced out of nowhere, and will be released barely 6 months later. Since the first vid of NG II I've had luke warm expectations, it just didn't feel like it was getting the coverage I would have expected from what I think some figured would be this huge summer must-own blockbuster.[QUOTE="redsoxrock88"]Everyone is already calling NG2 a flop and not AAA here. "Good" = "Terrible"?
hmm can't compare Ninja Gaiden to one of the best games of all time. Sorry but are you kidding me? MGS story alone owns pretty much NG and most Hollywood movies. AgentH

I got my copy of EGM today, here's the deal, as I subscribe and get them up to a week before it reaches stands, neither NG2 or MGS4 were reviewed, MGS4 had an article written about it after the reviews page, while NG2 was in the reviews wrap up, it was written the camera was annoying in preview versions, though probably better in the final version, though the brutal action compensated for it, both will be reviewd in the August issue, which hits stands July 1st.

No. No it's not.
There are so many hidden messages and metaphors in the MGS story and in the characters it's not even remotely close to Titanic. You just suck at intellectual thinking and understanding story-lines obviously.

Id actually have to say, that Mario's story is even a tiny bit better than Gaidens...

Well, I enjoy the narrative of MGS, though Kojima essentially wins, he makes money, and he does it well, which is the overall point of it all. Fan service may be in there, but Kojima and Konami certainly want to hit the jackpot.

Actually I was going to debate that warped statement you made but decided you weren't worth it pretty much. Metal Gear Solid's story like probably goes over your head and makes your brain hurt.

What the hell is with you and Titanic? Titanic wasn't that great at all. The plot sucked, the writing was generic, the characters bland and uninspiring...i could go on and on. It was a boring love story that grossed a lot of money due to teenage girls and their love for Leonardo Dicrapio.
You are comparing two different types of stories.
There is so so much more depth to the MGS storyline than Titanic. I just have no clue what compelled you to compare the two.

I understood you did not use the analogy as an insult, though it is the ultimate point. Tastes differ, which is the bttom line, many think Kojima is brilliant, and the MGS storyline is resplendent, I would much rather call MGS a Dan Brown novel than Dostoyevsky, more shock value than depth, though I believe the MGS storyline is substantial enough.

Point taken. I can understand the melodramtics and the convulted, as the MGS series is difficult to grasp for the uninitiated.
