MGS4 in-game Pics

if you play to the end you'll understand Liquid for the most part was done in MGS2, and at the end You'll see why Ocelot was in totaly control of himself. Also in the MGS world, science is a major part and its a video game, it can happen right? lol. If you finish the game or if that Zero guy understood it, it's much more then Ocelot himself. And for the other guy who is thinking about buying this game, but is worried about the cut scene, what do you expect? after so many games, how else can they wrap up the game. Trust me man, the cut scene's are great. the last part of the game, if you followed the story so far, it will make good sense and the time won't be a factor..if you don't understand..then it will get to you lol.

Oh, me not understanding the story is not a problem. I "understand" it. It's just that it's so cheesy, so typical japanese. Even if I tried, I just can't like the story. To me, it's just that bad. Sorry. Hey, I'm glad there are people who find joy in this game. Good for them.
I'm just saying story-wise... this series goes in the drain :P That's my opinion :)

Actually it uploads them to the HDD and then you can trasnfer them.

In response to your sig...there are various definitions of winning the console race and which console is best. The wii is winning in hardware sales, the 360 is winning in software sales, and the ps3 has mgs4 and gow3. So for someone like me who is disinterested in anything other then mgs, gow, and sc2, the ps3 was a no brainer. Not to mention bluray is a huge perk for me. When I owned a 360 and a wii, I never used em, so now they are sold...yet the ps3 keeps trucking away under my tv. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to return some videotapes.

The cutscenes are really well done, so I never really wanted to time any of them. The only cutscene that I felt was really long was the last one. It also helps if you're a fan of the series.

Here's just one of the things I don't like about MGS4: The antagonist, Liquid Ocelot, one of the Patriots agents who has been possesed by Liquid Snake, Solid Snake's evil twin brother who has been killed, as a reslut of an arm transplant.... how STUPID does that sound? That's just one of the things I cannot stand.

I was about to say the same. I even told a friend who still doesnt have a PS3 that the whole "Genes consuming Ocelot Mind" was not the real deal. The actual thing is way more believable as it can even be achieved today.

hum...the shortest ones are like 10-20 minutes....the longest are 1hr-1 half hr

Are you serious? First of all, I would say that Yahtzee has more brains than you will ever have. Secondly, the storytelling is absolutely NOT at its finest. If it's a story you are looking for: Planescape: Tourment.

I don't get how MGS4 has a stupid story. So what about Gears? Halo? They have splendid stories. MGS4 actually made it feel huge for what I was doing when playing. It was so immersive. That story was great. The people who didn't understand anything about MGS4 or previous MGS because they didn't play them or even research them are the people saying "It has a stupid story".

That is basically what happend. Hell, it even says on Wikipedia! I played as long as I could, but I just couldn't go on because of the story... which is crap. Genes in Liquid's arm that slowly took over Ocelot's mind. Oh, God...

I'll post some more eventually, not the greatest but having one controller I can't take action shots on the fly, there are two camera modes (1st and 3rd person, the 3rd person you really need two controls to use properly).

to skip them would mean being lost with the story and i have followed it through mgs1,2,3. skipping now would be pointless lol but how long are the cutscenes on average?

It might be close to an hour though you can pause and skip them. The hour long one comes when the game is finally over. I beat the game, and then I spent like an hour and a half watching cutscenes. That's really the only time it goes overboard, though that's because it's finally concluding the epic saga of Solid Snake.

I have played the previous MGS games, and I just couldn't stand them because the story was badly written and just was stupid. I'm sorry, but any intelligent mind can look at the MGS story and safely say "this is just stupid... it doesn't make sense". I mean, if you are into surrealistic mangas, then this is probably the perfect game for you.. because that is exactly what it is.

It is indeed a fantastic looking game.

Has its blemishes, like any game, but is the honestly the best looking console game about imo, compared to anything on the 360 and PS3 currently.

don't get MGS4, you wont like it. One of the best things about MGS4 is the story and the way it's told. If you don't care about the story at all, you probably wont enjoy it much. The last cutscene is just about an hour and several cutscenes are 30 mins or so.

Every MGS has had an excellent story (although 2s is incredibly convoluted), and No.4s is particularly good.

Has far more depth in its universe, lore and story line than many games, and is pieced together into an excellent package.

The script is also very good. Sure it can be quite cheesy and melodramatic at times, but it can also be quite powerful, convincing and make a huge impression on the player.

Things such as the War Economy, 'normalising' war, and private military corporations, let alone arms trading depending on the regions are all frighteningly realistic, as stuff like this is all present in the real world just not to the extent as in the game.

Certainly one of the few big budget games to make direct political and social commentary.

As much as I love the MGS4 cutscenes I am glad there is an option to skip them, every once in a while you just want to get going with the game, with that said I have played MGS4 without skipping cutscenes 3 times.

Not getting this game. I looks good, yes, but I just don't like the MGS series. Don't like the crappy story, stupid humor, and cheezy voice-acting. That's my OPINION.
