lol well only intelectual or not you have to admit its a little unoriginal. besides this thread is not a debate. i said right in the first post that i personally can't weigh in. i was just seeing what peopel thought.

I havent replayed the campaign yet, and havent touched MGO for awhile. MGO is fun, just not addicting or anything. And signing up was a hassle and a turn off immediatly.

With that said, the game is my favorite of all time, campaign wise anyway.

I agree. Gears online just sucked. MGO was really fun indeed. MGS4 single player experience was like non other.

MGS4 is a good game, but not great. 7.5. Too much watching, not enough playing. I know that's how the MGS series has always been, but the first 2 acts of MGS4 offered a lot more playing than the final 3 acts, which added in a lot more cinematics. BioShockOwnz

First of all this isnt even true, you can skip the cutscenes if you want to. Secondly, stop bashing MGS4. You do this in every thread. If you dont like the game just keep it to yourself. Back to the topic and TC, MGS4 gameplay mechanics had to be the largest and the best ive ever seen. You have to try the game rest of the game you havent even gotten to the real stuff. Its really good.

Haha, there are definitely a lot of cinematics, but it gets even heavier after the 4 hours you played.

Why on earth are you knocking GTA4? That game is an astonishing achievement. I live near NYC and simply reproducing the area digitally would be a feat but to do it with such clever satire and likable characters. That game certainly deserved all its praise.

Don't you know? MGS is a religion with zealous followers. Me for example, I got attacked simply saying that it should have been a 9.0( which is still a great score so Im not really knocking it) but the crazy fans still went nuts.

Go to church some Sunday and say, "Jesus is cool but not quite a 10.0"

MGS4 ending wasn't too epic for me, I liked the MGS3 one more...but the gameplay mechanics revamp, plus the online revamp are a better feat than the SA-GTA4 changes (please, if anyone is going to complain about MGO here, I hope at least he doesn't use GTA4 as an example of multiplayer... because it's just FAIL).

Its not that. I thought MGS4 was a good game, but not for everyone. I donlt really care, I don't let other people opinions ruin the game for me. I just didn't like GTA IV, thats it period and every publisher was giving it tens and nines. Never fall for the hype is all I say.

I liked MGS4 better then GTA IV you are correct though.:P

I mean.. with that in mind, MGS's 4's laste few acts were soooooooooooo looooooooooong!

Ok I get the game is about story, cutscenes, flashy drama, and sometimes nonsensical jabber (Drebin) that takes up most of the screentime...

"Let me tell you about war snake... War is when two opposing sides fight against each other, hoping to achieve victory through taking down one force and suprressing them into a position where they should give up. A war is fought by sokliers who in turn are controlled by generals, who have to give orders that are very.... blah blah blah!" I know this isn't an actual speech, but dammnit Drebin is by far one of the most annoying people I felt in the game. He became a bit more likeable in the end, but still the guy needs to just shut up and get to the point and avoid long-winded discussions filled with useless or common ideas anyone wouldn't need to know about because it's useless in the end!

Now, the gameplay had it's moments. The graphics were... well the latter half of the game showed some very "Wow" moments. The character models are great looking, but I never felt like this game was graphically superior to something that can't be done to another system either if you ask me. It looked nice and that was it, but if one must comment on something it's the character animations.

In-game they are fine, even if they still have some of that MGS canned stiffness. However this game proves to me that video games have a long way to go to really immerse you. If it tries to be real, cool, but you know I won't get into it, other than little details and weird juxtopositions that seem unnatural or delayed (lip synch) and so forth, can throw you out and make you realize it's a game you are still playing. With other games it's maybe less of a problem, however when it's a game that's got hour long cutscenes and normal 25-45 minute smaller cutscenes.... it becomes a bit of an irk personally.

Still, great game, on my second playthrough. I just wish the online was better...

It's not that. I just think the praising on multiplat-360 exclusive titles on your side, and the fact you're now even being negative about MGS4 kind of reveal what, in my mind, is your true form.

I heard you say LBP is your most hyped title (or something alike). Is that statement true? Or you're pulling another makeup hype to prevent cows from attacking you?

By the way, i'm a known san andreas multiplayer (SAMP) player and I feel GTA4 is a letdown. And liquidsword, you can't be serious. Why would a cow knock off GTA4 if they can have it. If anything it's lemmings knocking off MGS4.

Just watch how many lemmings who were starving for final fantasy suddenly went FFXIII avatar and signature frenzy, but u ntil then it was "bu-bu-but the CGI no gameplay!"

That's one of the three reasons I don't think MGS4 is that great. First off a truly great game will appeal to it's existing fanbase but be so good that newcomers will like it too.

Second off a truly great game will produce amazing and memmorable momments and advance the story with as little cutscene, or non-ingame elements as possible. I mean you wade through an hour of cinematics thinking you are going to play and then you have that stupid radio conversation with Otacon. Instead of staying on track with an engaging cohesive story Kopjima is on this tedious and extremely boring mission of tying up every character's story.

Kojima used cutscenes as a crutch bigtime. I won't deny they look awesome but they annoy me more then entertain.

Thirdly the actual in-game graphics are just plain weak. It looks no better then GRAW 1 and in fact looks really similar. The animations look very similar to old MGS games which may have been an attempt at nostalgia but to me was dissapointing.

You made so many threads about MGS4 not being able to sell systems because MGS3 sold to only 2% of its userbase or something like that which you would post in so many threads and now you say you almost bought a PS3 for it? You even made a thread 2 days after its release sayin it was a sales flop :|

On topic: I'm on my 5th play-through , I like the game not everyone will, the same applies to any game in existance

when it's the ONLY game they have that's even worth renting of course they're going to get defensive. I'd be pissed if I shelled out the dough for a PS3 only to have one decent game to date. Wouldn't you be pissed if it was the only system you owned and were left with "just wait" as your next up coming great title. :lol:
