i agree with the statement but not the reasons. if 3rd party games sell well on the wiiu then devs wont have a problem supporting it. if the likes of elder scrolls and GTA5 sell solid numbers on the wiiu then they will continue to be made for the wiiu. the wiiu controller is not an issue...it supports all the standard input of a traditional controller and the extras such as the touch screen are, according to devs, very easy to implement. there were some teething problems with the wireless element of the controller but the console was (and still is) under development. if a dev chooses they can also ignore all the extras the wiiu offers and just offer a carbon copy of the PS3/360 version. they dont even need to make a custom control setup like they would on the wii. its the 3rd party games selling....thats the problem. ninty need to find a way to convince people to pick up the wiiu version over every other version. 3rd parties also need to do that also to try and expand their userbase to wiiu users. im worried that 3rd parties are already shooting themselves in the foot for the wiiu however (releasing old titles with minimal to no upgrades seems to be the order of the day amongst third parties bar a few exceptions). how many are waiting for the wiiu version of batman AC? if it comes with the DX11 upgrades seen on the PC and some cool uses of the controller will many who have it now buy it again? what if they bundle AA and AC together? same with elder scrolls....if bethesda are just going to port skyrim to the wiiu how many will bother? then there is the services problem going forward. even if ninty offer a better online service, for free, with the best console version of multiplats...how many will forgo the service there used to? if the wiiu version of COD is superior in every way, online and off, how many will forgo their achievements/trophies and friends lists to play it on the wiiu?
Going by past trends, it seems to be a pretty safe prediction.CajunShooter
This of course Patcher predicted the Wii would be the top selling console this holiday season and warned Volition of low sales on Saints Row 3 so he is hardly a savant.
All this talk about the Wii-U...Is really annoying. There is way too much stuff about the Wii-U that we don't know, so I think it would be better for annaylsts, especially Micheal Pachter, to wait for the Re-unveil of the Wii-U at this years E3 so that more stuff is known about the Wii-U such as price, the launch titles, included software, included hardware, and future titles. THEN, if you are still not happy the system, bash it.
