Although there are real reasons for modding like bypassing region-locks(which is legal is some countries), modding breaks the ToS and should be punished.
Too bad about the people that really uses it for playing backups of their original games. I know how dvds are fragile.

Not sure if they banning that. If you read, it sounds like they banning those who mode it to cheat.
Either way online cheating sucks.Â
That's one of the reason I hated PC online gaming, peopel cheat like mad on the PC and they don't have to put anything on thier motherboard to do itFruity_Fantasyi dont know what kind of games you be playing, but most games have systems to prevent cheating like steam, etc. cheaters get banned quick on CS 1.6, source etc.

That won't stop them as long as the game keeps getting played

i dont know if you play pc games or not, but in steam it is not that easy to get around a ban, if at all.meh..i guess this beats me idea of having modded xbox360's burst into flames..
good move tho, MS... once again, setting the benchmark...:)

i dont think you play pc games much. there are always ways to bypass it even with steam.

i play a multitude of pc games everyday, and i never see the amount of cheaters like you guys are saying. there are probably more racists on XBL than cheaters on pc. you get banned once on steam and bypass it you will get banned again.I dont know, i know a lot of people who used to buy their games and then copy them onto their XBOXs for MUCH faster loading times as well as mods. It was nice and all to get Linux running on it, and it extended the life of his XBOX.
Its good as there will be less cheaters but i dont know it may be cutting off the media capabilities of it. Â
[QUOTE="ramey70"]How lame does someone have to be to cheat at videogames?danxxx
is not about cheating is about piracy, the modders do not cheat they mod the console to play backups games.
exactly you are winner. they want to stop piracy which is very rampant on 360 ATM, its not about stopping cheating. they used this halo 3 beta as a chance to catch people it seems.i dont know what kind of games you be playing, but most games have systems to prevent cheating like steam, etc. cheaters get banned quick on CS 1.6, source etc.[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"][QUOTE="Fruity_Fantasy"]That's one of the reason I hated PC online gaming, peopel cheat like mad on the PC and they don't have to put anything on thier motherboard to do itistreakforfood

Can you show verifiable cases where VAC2 has been defeated, then?[QUOTE="danxxx"][QUOTE="ramey70"]How lame does someone have to be to cheat at videogames?Chris-Hansen

Modding the consoles opens the door for the execution of compromised executables, which opens doors for cheating. Get it?[QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"][QUOTE="danxxx"][QUOTE="ramey70"]How lame does someone have to be to cheat at videogames?HuusAsking

Get it?yeah but cheating is hardly rampant on XBL, piracy is though, i can show you 10 sites that have pirated 360 games and show you how to mod your 360 to play them which is actually easier to do than it has ever been with a console even ps2 or xbox1 and is basically free no less, get it ?[QUOTE="HuusAsking"][QUOTE="Chris-Hansen"][QUOTE="danxxx"][QUOTE="ramey70"]How lame does someone have to be to cheat at videogames?Chris-Hansen

1. Copied discs are legal (they've been through the courts at least once).2. No waiting.
3. No paying the handling charges--just the few bucks for the DVD+R DL.Â

Yes thats right, i couldnt believe how playable Morrowind and BioWare games were on my friends XBOX.Please Log In to post.
