Well, they are and they aren't. In the US you're allowed to make backup copies of copyrighted material under Fair Use, but under DMCA you're not allowed to bypass any digital copyright protection schemes. Tell me how that makes sense. :?Â

Supposedly, the DMCA, itself a Copyright Act, supercedes the original Copyright Act in the matters it touches upon. However, challenges to the DMCA have yet to be heard by the Supreme Court, where it would be pitted against the original Copyright Act's provisions for Fair Use, which go I believe to the 1st Amendments freedoms of speech and the press.

And people will find ways to defeat VAC and VAC2. Or they can use anonymizers that keep their IPs jumping.
This sucks for me. My console was sold to me modded. That's the only one they had in shops that was a reasonable price. The others were ripping me off. =/

Ever considered that this buyer may not be from one of the big three regions? Outside the big three, your only recourse is typically a bootlegged console (I know the Philippines is that way).
