[QUOTE="AHUGECAT"][QUOTE="fuzzysquash"][QUOTE="AHUGECAT"][QUOTE="fuzzysquash"]Why not? Only 4 million copies of FFXII were sold, and there was a 25 million userbase for the Xbox. It's not like all 110 million PS2 users bought the game. What's your guys' argument? Settle on one. Either Xbox fans want FF, and therefore Square will sense that and port XIII--or Xbox fans don't want FF, which is why Square didn't port the PS2 titles. I'm seein' self-contradictory logic here.fuzzysquash
You've met all Xbox users? Don't judge the Xbox fanbase on its fanboys here. A lot of Xbox fans would have LOVED to see Final Fantasy on their system, not some 3 year old MMORPG port but a real one. Devil May Cry 3 only sold I think around a million so why didn't Capcom port it to the Xbox? Because there wasn't demand. Now there is due to different demographics. A lot of Sony fanboys have jumped ship, for example.
So answer the question-- if so many Xbox fans "would have LOVED to see Final Fantasy on their system," why didn't Square port it? And if there's the same "love" being demonstrated by 360 users, then according to your logic, all signs point to the direction that Square WON'T port it.Not to mention that earlier, you just told me not to judge a userbase, because I hadn't met all the Xbox users
And yet what are you doing now?
Because the demand in the Xbox generation wasn't there. It wouldn't have sold enough to make sense. Cost-benefit ratio. Now that many Sony fanboys have jumped ship and new users have too, it makes more sense. Why didn't Capcom port Devil May Cry last generation? Because Xbox users mostly bought Americanized games like Halo or KOTOR instead of Panzer Dragoon Orta or Ninja Gaiden. But with the recent success of Dead Rising and Blue Dragon Capcom is having different thoughts.
But you just said the demand WAS there. You said that many Xbox fans would have loved to have FF. Love = demand, doesn't it?As I said, there wasn't enough Xbox fans then. 24 million is alot, but not enough. Now that the 360 has the upperhand in sales Square Enix will have a different look. I can bring up the Devil May Cry 4 deal and show how this generation is totally different.
Umm I think any owner of a console would want a game like Final Fantasy on it.
