There are those who only care about their system playing the games. In which case, yes, the Elite doesn't hurt them. asmallchild
It's the purest and best reason to own a particular console. Everything else is extra.

And then there are those who don't want to keep shelling out money to have the "latest" edition of the console. Those are the people that MS may have slighted.asmallchildHow are they slighted when they don't have to buy it? I just don't get this mentality of "If it's new you have to buy it, even if no one is forcing you to" It's incredibly stupid. At the heart of every 360 there is a core system and the primary functionality of it is to play games. THIS IS UNCHANGED. There is nothing wrong with what they are doing. It's just another choice on the shelf.
[QUOTE="Wasdie"]Why eventually? Honestly, they will just be screwing over all of the owners of a 360 now. I dont understand M$. They are doing more milking this gen than Sony is.liljon546lol, no where close to as much as Sony.
they are coming out with a new model that includes a much needed hdmi port. what are early adopters suppose to do when hdcp is iplemented in later hd-dvds?

Meaning no one is going to get shortchanged at the end of the day, whether they bought one on day one or just yesterday." Thanks for playing.

fanboys can try to spin this anyway they want to but 360 is nothing more then a multi media device that plays games to. it was M$ agenda from the start.
they are trying to create one multi media device that takes over the living room. by creating a video game console it was a way for them to break into that market.

It's just another choice on the shelf. They are slighted because they weren't given the option of buying it when they bought their original unit. I would have definitely chosen an Elite over my Premium back at launch day. Why wait til now to sell the Elite? Why not on launch day? I believe this is one area that Sony has gotten right: " We view every single PlayStation consumer as an elite consumer. Meaning no one is going to get shortchanged at the end of the day, whether they bought one on day one or just yesterday." No, I'm not forced to update to the Elite (I will anyway). But at the end of the day, the best console I could purchase on launch day is not the same as the best console I could purchase today. And that is what irks me. (This is a personal opinion. Again, I completely understand of others don't share the same feeling)

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK A PLAYSTATION IS? A system which is more future proof at launch than the 360? But unlike the 360 there isn't much else Sony could've put onto their system except for a bigger HDD which is curable with external storage - which, I may add, is something not even the 'Elite' can do.[QUOTE="heretrix"][QUOTE="InfamousC"][QUOTE="heretrix"][QUOTE="asmallchild"] There are those who only care about their system playing the games. Now you're just taking words right out of the Sony reps' mouths. ;) “Our strategy has always been to offer all our consumers a complete experience when they first purchase any PS3, rather than continually asking users to upgrade with expensive new add-ons and entire new SKUs."yeahyou just wait for the built in HD-DVD.... you will likely be waiting for the xbox720klactoseI don't think it would be wise placing a HD-DVD drive in the Xbox720 (or whatever MS's next-gen system will be called)
LOL Wheres the official microsoft announcement that they will eventually put hd dvd in the 360? oh wait there isn't one. So basically all we have is betanews saying so...yet no confirmtion? and Infamous self ownage boy backing it up with no facts at all?
LOL lets see

P.S: The 360 elite's hdmi is 1.3 compliant infamous, I.E HDCP standards are reliant and we're only thought of because of the 1.3 standard....P.S any movie purchased before the hdcp standard implimentation will be playable without an updgrade.....TA DA!
