Yes because a site called bluray.com would provide factual, unbiased information about Bluray.... You might as well have used Sony.com...

There, that's better. I had faith you could do it. BTW, the BD version of Dark Knight is the definitive version of the movie. Did you watch the extras where the film crew explained about what it was like filming the opening sequence of the movie in IMAX?
Blu-ray is not the next DVD? 20% of Dark Knight's sales are blu-ray, and its only been about a year since the format officially released...dgsagi went ahead and bought my ps3 a month earlier than i planned on because of the dark knight lol. its not like i just bought the console and the movie because i got the console last week with mgs4 and some other games but mainly i was pre-empting the dark knight
Sony's biggest problem was that they were too generous to the consumer's this gen. They should release a $200 console,,, with a 5gb HDD, no wifi, very unreliable hardware (i.e., it will break), and then remove free online play and charge you..... This is basically the X360 Arcade experience.signore
And you know what's funny? That arcade will still outsell your precious PS3 :D
I guess cows are taking it hard that the PS brand isn't king anymore. It's pretty pathetic to see Sony struggle to beat MS.
For cows, it's just the same old song, PS3 outsells the 360 by 3k in a month and then its'teh year of teh PS3' and 'PS3 will catch up by the end of the year' #60 starts pounding PS3 again and it's 'bu bu bu teh pricedrop' or 'bu bu bu they had a year headstart' or 'bu bu bu I don't play sales.' Evendentally you don't play PS3 either.
BTW, I'm enjoying my BD copy of Dark Knight on my stand alone BD player I purchased at Walmart for $135 on Black Friday. Stop blaming M$ and Walmart for Sony's failed business model. You can find an 8th grader that would tell you it would be smarter to concentrate your success DURING the Holiday shopping season. As opposed to June/ Then again Sony Marketing Genius is an oxymoron....
What this guy said. That's a trend I notice here as well There really seems to be a lot of excuses being made up for the PS3 not being so popular. I think they know that the Xbox360 is obviously doing a better job at being a viable gaming machine then the PS3, maybe Sony needs to have a look at it's gaming model compared to Microsoft because from what I can see... Microsoft have big expectations and their goal is fairly clear. They will strive to make their console the no. 1 entertainment device for the living room. MS will spend money to make money , invest in their online service with constant updates and support like they do Windows- if it doesn't work they will overhaul it fast like they do Windows ME and Vista to they new OS Windows 7, They are trying to expand their Live and OS service not just from consoles and PC's but to other ventures like mobile phones , Live over Consoles and PC's, digital distribution to promote the 'HD' revolution not just a step on disk formats like dvd to blu ray. Exactly what is Sony's clear goal and how does it intend to do that? becasue it's apparent Sony definately dominated the previous generations against Nintendo and Sega, but Microsof it is a completely different beast that needs to be taken seriously. It was coup'e de grace that Nintendo garnered so much support from the casual Market, and Microsoft seem really seems to have the console hardcore and is interested in appealing to the casual demographic as well,. Sony is playing catchup- with the promise of Home which MS responded and brought out NXE before even Home came out (or comes out) , it's online service is still not as recognized and clear as Live, really PSN being free should have trumped Live by now (so what's going on there???) imagine LIVE being free- then what excuse is there of the PS3? The money is in the games and software, subscriptions- isn't it apparent with Live being charged how much a year, Premium DLC, (episodic content will be a reality) Netflix, a larger ame library, a cheaper and less risky platform to develop for. Let's be real Sony-PS3 has an uphill battle with MS Xbox360 taking the competition seriously , it seems to me the fanboys are in the minority and are not facing reality or facing dellusions that MS is a pushover and Sony will win on brand, a few exclusives or past history alone.I have a feeling this forum is going to be like a ghost town tommorow since the numbers come outrybe1025Naww, just lots of North American cow damage
Blu-ray is not the next DVD? 20% of Dark Knight's sales are blu-ray, and its only been about a year since the format officially released...dgsagIf Blu-Ray had the same impact as DVD that figure would have been nearer 75%. I think that's what he means. Sure BR is here to stay but it's more mini-disc than DVD.

I agree, but it will do better than mini-disc. But BluRay probably won't enjoy the same proliferation as DVD. Why? Because while DVD didn't have to share the market with anyone (VHS was clearly inferior). BR has to live with existing DVD, and digital distribution is coming in fast...you can already stream movies from Netflix at a decent quality, what will another couple of years bring? Basically, it has less time to really take a big hold on the market, or else it might slip through its fingers...
Well at over half the price thats obvious.
And I agree with that guy, its doing the same thing as the 360 but at a higher price, and even if the ps3 has a slightly better lineup this year (AAA's and AAAA's) and even if it has Killzone 2 and a ton of brilliant games coming out only possible on the ps3, all people see is the price.
Most gamers (casual) dont know much about gaming and just look at the price, its the same with TV's and everything.
Greenberg says that the key to success in a three console market is to differentiate your console, something he believes Microsoft has managed to do while Sony hasn't.
Yes with price but not quality and value. I love corporate sh.. talk. Congrats to lemmings and MS for flooding the retail channels with low budget hardware.
LOL you people are soo funny! I had my PS3 since Dec. 2007 and i don'T care if stand alone BR are now 150$. That's like saying i bought a 3000$ HDTV 2 years ago and i got double crossed cause now it's 1000$.
Do the math
150$- 200$ = BR player stand alone player
400$ = gaming console + BR/DVD/CD player + Wifi capabilities + Internet capabilities + plus multi-media capabilities + online gaming + more!
PS3 is well worth it'S price!

Umm his point is that the playstation offers the same experience for double the money, therefore the xbox is value for money, the playstation fails to justify why someone should spend double the money for the same experienceGreenberg says that the key to success in a three console market is to differentiate your console, something he believes Microsoft has managed to do while Sony hasn't.

What, are they really that scared?! It's just starting to get pathetic and makes MS look like a bunch of kids.metalgear-solidyea because sony NEVER says anything about its competitors or any PR bulls**t

Everyone wants to judge the systems as if Blu Ray doesn't exist, or hardware failure doesn't matter. Lemmings want you to beieve this is a Coke vs Pepsi arguement. Its not. Even if it was .50c Coke will outsell 1.50 Pepsi any day. The value difference is that Pepsi doesn't have a hole in the bottom of the can and has rum in it for added enjoyment.
Now I am thirsty.
