Microsoft: Hard-core Will Be First To Buy Kinect

lol at the ppl wanting to spend $150 for this mainly for voice controls on the dashboard. are you ppl that freakin' lazy that you cant just press left or right on the Dpad followed by a simple button press? :roll:

The last time I remember MS speaking on behalf of the "hardcore" and what the "hardcore want" or like...they were talking about the extensive consultation process they supposedly had when designing the original Xbox controller. THey were constantly talking about all the hardcore gamers they talked to and had testing the controller and how their hardcore team loved and approved it.

THen the console came out and 99% of people hated that the controller was so massively huge.Less than a year later, MS was announcing they were changing the controller to make it smaller.

So I don't know who these "hardcore gamers" are that MS is talking to, but I question their credentials.

As a core gamer who also owns and loves the 360, it certainly is mine. What's worse, is that it is also sad at the same time.

In a way, he is right. There will be a portion of the hard-core audience that will run out and get Kincect because it is new tech. Many people on here said they will get it just for the voice commands. I don't think this represents a large portion of the gaming population, but it is there.

Something about the camera not fully able to detect darker skin/colour.

I even remember seeing a picture of Kinect this year where it fully recognised a person and couldnt recognise another person wearing a black top as well.

As we all know, Kinect is leading to the end of the current form of xbox. There are already rumors of microsoft in talks with popular toy companies, allowing children to scan/download 3D interactive models of their favorite toys based on upc/barcodes. With key titles such as Barbie Racing, Leapfrog, and Patty Cake leading the next wave of big budget hardcore titles, I think I may jump ship to the wii.

The only reason to buy kinect is to smash it.

Yeah...wow. If they start showing some of those core games, maybe. Until then, no.

He says kinect has wide range of games? No, it hasn't. Only casual games.
