Microsoft has the best marketing for their games period! [WE ARE ODST]

OMG the new Halo 3: ODST comnercial is the ****! Even more epic than the other Halo/Gears/etc.

Whoever they have doing their commercials is a ****ing beast (maybe they need to work on the PC ads too..j/k). Sony nor Nintendo haven't even grazed the epicness that Microsoft brings to the table.

Am I the one who really didn't like the commercial? Not because it wasn't bad, but its how they are marketing the game. I feel like a game should be marketed by gameplay not just a trailer that would get kids hyped to buy it. For that reason I am disappointed. As a gamer I feel slightly insulted, but I mean the trailer is a great... just not for a game.

(They aren't trying to show off the game but a trailer that will hype people to buy the game)

(since u copy/paste..) Uh no. It takes little creativity to sit there and paste gameplay footage and say "BUY THIS GAME". These kind of commercials do more than that, they get you involved in the story immediately. Look at the Halo 3 commercial with the toy figures and MC being held by the throat. Set the stage for H3 very well. Look at Gears' Madworld commercial, didn't show gameplay but is regarded as one of the top game commercials because of the emotion..same deal with this. But haters will hate no matter what it is, clearly.

Haters? I love the halo franchise, the 360 was my first console this generation because of that reason. But I feel like they pulled a square enix on us, and is solely doing it to push sales by hype rather than gameplay. I am upset at which because I plan on buying ODST, but the issue is the fear that this game will not live up to my standards of expectations I have from the halo franchise.

I expect a trailer to show off a game and minus the song the gears of war trailer showed off the actual game, so don't try to throw in something that you think that I think based on the fact that you instantly think i know what i am actually thinking

I kinda agree. That trailer made me want to see Halo movie, not to play the ODST. Though, I'm definetly buying ODST.

That was awesome.Making a commercial is supposed to make you want to play the game and be drawn into the universe. Everyone knows what Halo looks like, so what the hell is the point of puking up some gameplay footage? This is why MS kills with the Halo franchise: They treat it like an event and they push the hell out of the product. Bravo. This is how you do it.

Man, if only the game is actually that intense. Have to say, that is a good trailer.

I remember Neil Blompkamp made a concept video a few years ago on what the halo movie could've been like, and it looks just like that minus the special effects.

Has anyone else notice that the ODST hype is increasing a lot? But then again it's like this before every Bungie made Halo game.
