This simply won't work. You can't tack a motion sensing controler on after the fact. It won't sell and no one will develop games for it.Firelore29

I don't think that's true at all. If it is added as a reasonably priced accessory that works well, devs WILL develop for it. And as long as those games that are developed for it are decent, a lot of people will give it a try.

Oh, god, no.  MS, please don't buy into this crap.  Motion control sucks, and I'll be glad the day this fad dies.  I have no desire to hold my hands perfectly still so that my character doesn't do something I don't want them to.

Furthermore, there's no neutral state to motion control - my wife was playing Monkey Ball last night, and she was bouncing around the course, waving the Wiimote back and forth in an attempt to center herself.  With a gamepad, she could have just moved the analog stick to the precise location she wanted, held it there through the turn, and then let go and been going perfectly straight.

Hmm....nope, can't imagine it. It's impossible!

i'm a gamer with a 360.  i think the stuff you do on the wii is a gimmick with the 360 degree motion. i want a full 520 or 720 degree motion if 360 comes out with a 520+ motion controller it would be hot.

also, your missing their strategy.. does game specially made for the wii because of the pad will come out for wii and 360. when you have 2 consoles and one has better graphics with same controller which console will your purchase it for?

beldugo

This has to be a joke post right? What in the world are you talking about when you say that 360 degrees is a gimmick and you want a "full 520 or 720 degree motion"? You do realize that there are ONLY 360 degrees right? Or education system is really failing. Anyway, for clarity when someone mentions that they performed a 720 (in sports for instance) all they are saying is that they did 2 full rotations around an axis (2 x 360 = 720). So a controller that can detect all 360 degrees would be able to detect multiple revolutions automatically (unless it has a built in stop such as a steeriing wheel - but that shouldn't apply to a hand held gaming pad).

I saw that one. The motion sensing he talked about is produced by holding a normal tennis racket (not wiimote) and cameras translate that to motion in game.

Well tell M$ not to bother, according to system wars most lemmings think it is a gimmickdownPlayDemon

I dont think its a gimmick. I think it works well for the Wii. The PS3 tried a rush job at the end and "tacked" it on so for the PS3 yea, its a gimmck. I could care less if motion sensing comes to M$. I didnt buy the elite and Im not buying some motion sensing crap.

If they are going to do it...Do not do it half ***ed and make it a cheap gimmick like Sony.

And if they do it...Create your own line of those casual games for it.

Acenso
What about the Sixaxis is a cheap gimmick that the Wiimote isn't? It adds more control and possibilities to what already exists.

Because it would be a feature in a game, not a game FORCING you to use it no matter how stupid its implimented. Just like the wii does.. oh wait... You HAVE to use it no matter how stupid it is for a lot of games

Hmm I really was not expecting this so early... But if they are to use it, it's better they start as soon as possible and even then at this point in time, they have many possible outcomes that could leave in failure. At least we won't have to listen to more PR bull when it comes to the Wii's competion, or Microsofts reminding us of their failure in using something in the same line as this in the past.

Wii at this point in time is on a very solid ground and it seems this tech will be evolving for now on the Wii(for obvious reasons), if not for the rest of the gen. As it stands Motion sensing favors the Wii over Sony and definitely MS. And MS can definitely be shooting themselves in the foot with this one... In any case, some of the responces on this thread are hilarious

Nintendo Wii doesn't sell so well because of it's gimicky motion sensing, it sells well because it's cheap as chips... Microsoft need to get that into there thick skulls if they are really thinking of adding motion sensing.Dahaka-UK

just like the gc sold because it was che.. oh.

Um they can make a plugin add on and ship it with some games. Kinda like the rumble pak for N64.
