They should have went below $399. Merely matching the more powerful PS4 I don't think is enough, especially when the Titan Fall bundle was $399 at various retailers including M$ themselves.
$299-$349 for a Kinectless Xbone would have been a sweet powerplay and covered the power gap offered by Sony. It would have forced Sony to take this seriously. They could have dropped the Kinected Xbone to $399-$449.
Here's a picture from back in March for a TF bundled Xbone for $399 with Kinect included sold by M$.
Why are you spamming this everywhere? That was a limited time offer exclusively for the Titanfall deal, it has no relation to any future pricing. Also, THIS IS NOT A PRICE DROP/CUT. It is simply a different way to purchase the same things, you can buy a Kinectless Xbox for 399.99, but it's going to cost you 100$ to go get a Kinect if you end up wanting one. That makes the price exactly what it already was. The announcement was "Kinectless X1 now available" not "Xbox One price cut"
the xbox brand is dying. xbone is weak as **** the devs jumping ship xboxlive is shit the kinect failed so the xbone will be gone by the end of this year. m$ don't give a shit though they just gonna try anythang to get rid of stock n run away with money from stupid xbone shoppers. if u buy a xbone ur brain has mental problems imho facts
lol.
and greedy. Even with the price drop i'm amazed they've sold 5 million units. People will still buy it that's the thing. The ps4 is still better hardware, has better games and didn't come with this stuff you don't need in the first place. If Microsoft overtakes sony I will be upset because there are too many people out there who buy things because of brand vs who makes the better product.
Why would anyone want Microsoft to win? They are greedy and sell crap at more expensive prices. Would milk everyone dry if they could.
PS3 generation 7. Confusing hardware, blu-ray was unnecessary, exorbitant initial pricing.
Also, just because you think something is better does not make it so.
@NathanDrakeSwag: sold to retailers. Microsoft got their money for the consoles. They are champs at raking it in. You better learn that.
I wouldn't buy an Xbox One simply based on principle. The Xbox One is a box without a vision at this point. Microsoft has no idea what the Xbox One should be - they were terribly unprepared for next gen. You don't build a box that is supposed to last for years and then within a single year change nearly everything about it. What's next? I can just imagine it right now .... "Phil Spencer says cloud is bull----" - IGN.

Xbox Brand is dying - 5mil consoles shipped says otherwise. It's less than PS4 of course, but that's still a shit load of Xbox's.
Devs jumping ship - Who jumped ship? Last time I checked Xbox was gaining new devs (Insomniac jumped ship from Sony, MS created Black Tusk)
Kinect failed - Nope, works exactly as intended. Maybe lacking actual games near launch but the tech is solid, and 5 million people have them.
Xbox will be gone by the end of the year- Go look at Microsoft's financial status...then go look at Sony's....who is more likely to be gone? (Neither of them are going anywhere imo but yeah lol....Sony...)
Maybe my brain has mental problems, or maybe I'm just not a biased ignorant fanboy. I'll take playing all games and enjoying all consoles over being a mad internet punk any day. BTW I'm a PS4/X1/PC/Wii U gamer...so yeah.

This offer I posted done by M$ was matched by other retailers (Best Buy, Fry's Electronics) and yet at other retailers we saw $449 with Titanfall and Kinect and even sometimes Forza as well (Walmart, Target, Amazon, Best Buy, Fry's Electronics, et cetera). Too many retailers to list that I listed yesterday for another butt-hurt user like yourself that takes this stuff to seriously. There is no need for emotion. I have all the machines and I'm seeing trends and pointing them out. That picture serves my point well, and that was the first time I posted that version (I call it the Red Arrow edition).
My point is unchanged, they could have been more aggressive with the Xbone pricing which starts in June 2014. It's a cheaper machine with lower end parts. Kinect was the expensive piece, so removing that we should have seen a better price than $100. Of course, this $399 announced unit I predicted last year prior to launch, so I was really hoping they would surprise me since most of their pricing and hardware moves are very predictable so far.

You can see that yesterday they dropped Xbone by $100 by offering a Kinectless Xbone and they added Value to Xbox Live. Two things I saw coming five months ago. I call it like I see it. The better deals for consumers, more games for me. I just want to play some awesome games. Super Fanboys get mad and confused as if I wish these things. I don't. I've already purchased and own the machines.
I'm not on any of their sides, I'm playing for my home team. Whatever company gives me sweet games to play wins my money which is why I own Wii U, PC, and handhelds as well.
@NathanDrakeSwag: sold to retailers. Microsoft got their money for the consoles. They are champs at raking it in. You better learn that.
Retailers won't be buying anymore until they sell those 5 million. A lot of those on shelves will be sent back so they can repackage them without Kinect.
Its in the same situation as the Wiiu. They overshipped a product that has no demand.
5 mill aint squat. that's it m$ running off with people money already n they have the nerve to sell one with kinect to really lure the really dumb shoppers. U know why they selling one without kinect becoz they stop manufacturing the failure called kinect up next the xbone. when we say don't buy a xbone buy a ps4 instead it's becoz sony gamers are real gamers n we need to let it be known ps4 is the one
and greedy. Even with the price drop i'm amazed they've sold 5 million units. People will still buy it that's the thing. You're right. Sony doesn't care about money. In their shareholder meetings, all they discuss in fact is how they can better mail puppies around the world to brighten people's day.
Microsoft, on the other hand, cares about money. They discuss things like marketing strategies, market saturation, product development, and analytics. What a bunch of assholes.
Not to mention all the AAAe titles on the PS4 that Xbox One doesn't have. Like....ummm, well, hmmmmmm. Doesn't matter! They're better!
...you're taking things too seriously

Since he based that on a principle he mentioned, that would apply to consumer behavior in a very large market like the gaming industry (valued at $ 93 bilion in 2013), which could very well be replicated in other markets, if the premise is true, than he's implying a change in consumer behavior to a more passive and less demanding one. That is, of course, reason to be upset, since in the long term it means the gradual loss of quality and value on said market. So... maybe people really should be a bit concerned about a company trying to implement draconian policies, backtracking without compensation, etc., and achieving success anyway.

You just don't talk like you own an X1, that's all. Usually if someone was willing to go out day one and buy a system for 500$ they did their research, and unless you were poorly researched and felt ripped off. You just seem really mad at MS for apparently no reason which makes me call out "fanboy".
Secondly, what are you talking about? What "butthurt" where was I screaming? I gave you a totally logical response and you're responding to me like I was throwing a tantrum. I used caps on one line that I was trying to emphasize, not yell, only because many people online seem to be missing this. Many people, not just you, are calling this a price cut, and I'm clarifying it once and for all.
I still stand by the fact that you can't use an exclusive limited time sale to determine the future pricing of the Xbox. Your point is that they offered a better deal before, and while that is true, it was limited and no longer stands. At some point in the future they'll probably do a "Sunset Overdrive" edition of the X1 with a game and controller for 399 or something like that. But those are promotions, and have nothing to do with regular pricing, so you bringing it up isn't really helping your argument.
My point is I disagree with you, I think this is a good move for MS and they have done their best adjusting the options to accommodate the most gamers. I don't think MS needs to be more aggressive with pricing, they provide a lot of different features that out-weigh the minimal hardware difference between the two consoles.
I also don't give a damn about your "track record" or your "predictions", it's all just really irrelevant to our current discussion. You think the Xbox needs to be cheaper (even though you say you already have one, so why should it matter anyway lol?) and I disagree with that. None of your predictions can change that xD
They've shipped 5 million not sold. Around 800k of those are unsold.
MS has sold 4.4 million & Sony has sold 7.4 million. PS4 has sold exactly 3 million more.
The price drop of the X1 should slow the gap widening a bit.
It won't slow the gap at all. What is going to make people purchase an Xbone anytime soon? Inferior versions of multiplats?
Price is not the reason Xbone is a flop.
...you're taking things too seriously

No much better to support a company that has implemented "draconian policies" and had its entire network and user data compromised resulting in loss of service for a month, and just recently announced DRM on one of their big releases before having to change their mind due to public outcry.

Totally true. Titanflop bundles sold at the same price as PS4's in March weren't able to save Xbone. I don't know what's making lems thing that a Kinectless Xbone with no free games is going to outsell the more powerful PS4 at the same price.

You are unintentionally amusing and not the super troll you came off in your first post, so for that I will respond again.
You don't talk like you own various consoles other than the coveted Xbone/360, but I don't let that sway me. I would hate to generalize...I wouldn't mention it, but since you brought it up, I am only stating where I the impression that I get. I not only own all machines since launch the last four generations, I have 100,000+ Gamerscore and hundreds of XBLA games. I'm quite invested in the Xbox ecosystem. While you come off as a powerful Xbox supporter, I'm sure you have 30 PSN Platinums and play the Wii U to balance out that Xbox side. We all have PCs, I own four so I'm with you on that (I figure you'll respond by mentioning PC so I'm saving us a trip down memory lane). Impressions aren't reality, which I hope we both agree.
You say you disagree with me then go on to agree with me that this is a good move for M$. Clearly it's a good move because I said in my post above it's what they needed to do (5 months, 12 days ago). I already said that it's a good move for Xbone multiple times since yesterday and in my post above. They will see greater success due to this move, But my point was that this pricing move wasn't aggressive enough if they really wanted to rain on PS4's parade.
Your final line proves what I was saying about super fanboys getting flustered/angry because they think I wish these things. I already said I didn't. I'm objective. It doesn't matter what the companies do, I simply offered my insight and opinion in a thread for the future. A lower price, tempts more buyers away from PS4, sells more Xbones, we get more support from 3rd parties, etc.
Applying your final line why should it matter if I have one...A "why" question? lol. Okay, why does it matter to you even though you have the Xbone? Exactly. It ultimately doesn't matter. I already said it doesn't matter to me. I'm awaiting Games with Gold since launch which is FINALLY happening. I've been waiting since launch and I predicted that Games with Gold would come to Xbone by Summer 2014 and that's what's happening around E3 2014. I can link that, but you won't give a damn that I predicted that move either, so I won't bother. I'm disappointed the company is so predictable, but at least eventually I'll have some games to play and a reason to turn on my Xbone regularly.
As far as you trying to clarify once and for all what the entire industry is calling a price cut/drop. The consumers will see it as a price cut, I see it as such, and the gaming industry sees it as a price cut/drop. I suggest you yell at the journalists and the world until they hear you.
Start with Gamespot:
Those Bastards. They killed Kenny and called it an Xbox One Price Drop! I know, right? There is a comments section under this article and you can really let Gamespot.com have it and clarify once and for all that it's not a PRICE CUT! Don't stop there, consider emails. Don't forget IGN, Eurogamer, Game Informer, Endgadget, Cnet, Fox news, Yahoo, Gamestop games, and other outlets going nuts promoting this as a price drop. Google...I mean Bing it since I suspect you own a windows phone and I would assume Bing is your search engine of choice. xD Your work is cut out for you if you really want to rage against the machine of the games industry. I wish you luck if you choose to rally round the family, with a pocket full of shells.
I'm waiting on E3 so I get get excited for new games. Your post with harsher language, word choices starting with anger of "spamming pics" and earlier CAPS lock make you seem emotional so I'm going to slowly back away from this here conversation and hit the gym. I threw in some levity, but I'm not sure what I'm dealing with here. You have been a good sport compared to the super trolls that parade around here. If this post makes you angry, apologies. Treat yourself to some iced cream or a caramel apple. Have a fab X-Wed.

Of course it's not. No one should "support a company" just for brand itself, it's exactly what he meant isn't it. As for those situations you mentioned, those are not reasons for being upset after all, since people really took it "too serious", like you implied people shouldn't, and thanks to that they managed to reverse the anti consumer practices you mentioned. You have a good night.
Where are the better games you speak of? And if it wasn't for MS Sony would be even more greedy......MS put the fear in Sony with the 360 and now there is competition. That is the best thing for gamers, not one company ruling all.
you don't even know me. Irrational crazy people are crazy and irrational. Funny because it's true. You are one of those people. I actually have excellent constructive criticism skills. that's the best part.
you might want to use the quote system so people know what you're talking about/responding to. Otherwise you just sound (even more) crazy and irrational
why because you are a total douchebag and I know it?
Uh, no. So people can know what you're talking about and so the people your responding to receive notifications.
But yeah, you sound totally sane and rational right now /s
sure buddy. say those things to me in person sometime. you are a douche.
Looking at this conversation, I don't think I'm the one who is coming off as a douche
Don't worry you are one.
celtic, why you being such a delirious douche?
Would milk everyone dry if they could.
they haven't sold 5 million, they shipped 5 million. they are on the shelves of stores, not in the homes of gamers.
