Microsoft is always eager to put out new hardware because it's the only card they can play. They can't really start next gen if they're not even going to utilize it with true exclusives for the next couple of years or so.

Sony always takes a wait-and-see approach to see what the competition comes up with first, before responding to it. They never go first.

Gen 5 - They waited for Saturn to go first, before unveiling details about the PS1.

Gen 6 - They waited for Dreamcast to go first.

Gen 7 - Xbox 360 first.

Gen 8 - Wii U released first, then they waited for Xbox One details, and then responded with PS4 details.

Sony has a clear pattern. They're waiting for Microsoft to make a mistake somewhere so they can capitalize on it.

We will see who is going to make the mistake on price this time on around.

Eh, probably not. I expect that they'll be priced the same or the PS5 will be slightly cheaper.

I know both sides are playing a game of cat and mouse but I'm really hoping June and July deliver and everything after that point is just gravy. I'm not even the most interested in the AAA and big budget games as much as the games that haven't been announced yet.

@omega2149: I'm pretty sure the games will determine who gets that title.
