microsoft knew xbox360 could damage discs

well i was reading some articles about technology and all that stuff and found this, idk if its old or not but what you think xbox360 owners.

i have a ps3 and planning to buy a 360, anyone know if this was fixed or something?

It still happens but as I have a refurbished console I'm not sure if it happens with the news ones. However the most important part about the new update is you can install the entire game to your drive. You only need the disc in the drive to prove that you own the game. No more scratched discs.BumFluff122

I have NEVER had a disc scratch and I no NOT ONE person who has. The only way it happens is through misuse. Toriko42

Yeah, keep your 360 horizontal and don''t move it. I don't believe anyone who says they have scratched discs and said they;ve done neither of those.

Not one disc has been ruined in my Xbox 360.

well is good to know that the latest version are more reliable and well the warranty is enough but anyway thanks for the answer

1. If there's a WARNING ON THE CONSOLE then yes MS knew about it.

2. It sounds like 90% of these scratch disk cases are the faults of the users, more then the company itself
