Microsoft makes Xbox LIVE Free...

I'd prefer consistency and have XB Live Free and XB Die Hard. At least people would get to feel cool about being ripped off.

Xbox LIVE club. I feel socially accepted and i pay for a category service!

So soon it will be $60 for 1 account,but 4 accounts for the same 360 will be $100.

Why people put up with this is beyond me,is already bad that they make us pay for something that should be free,but charge even more for allowing more people to play on the same 360 with different accounts is an out load robery.

MS is to damn greedy this gen.

Companies do this sort of thing, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Samsung, Toshiba they rename certrain things upon the release of other things to better intergrate they also rename things to give them a better understabability to the common consumer.

Its not that hard to understand...

Coming from MS this is probably and attent to trick people into believing that xbox live is free,in fact changing the name to xbox live free gives a false represetantion to a service which has been charge for since launch,and i wonder why 5 years into the xbox 360 life span.

Many people know xbox live is $50 a year to if the start to read xbox live free what would be the first thing they will think it is.?

I don't get why this is such a hard thing for Sony fans to understand, especially now that they have PSN+. The Xbl Silver account has and always will be free, if you don't play online games such as myself, this is the account for you. If you do play online game then you pay for the Gold account for get all the benefits that the XBL community has to offer, simple.

Cows had better get used to the idea because we know that PS4 will require PSN+ for online playing

PSN+ is not even close to be the same as xbox live which i own as well,on xbox live i pay to play online i could care less about the so call features,which almost all are on PSN as well like facebook tweeter and many other.

One charge you for allowing you to use the multiplayer part of games,another charge you for games,they are as different as they can be.

BUT... but ..... they get to use their own profile.... so they can collect acheivements.... thats worth $50.00 dollars a year.

MS just could not GIVE that away because soo many people want their own profile... name and avatar and the privilage to buy items and not have to share it with the others even if they want it also. They get the privilage of buying the exact item for themselves.

The sad part is that there is always some one who deffend this no matter what,they would love if the service was free,but they don't show it because they have to deffend the choices they already make.

Free? They might as well call it Non-Xbox Live, because really XBL is only a service if you pay for it.

Wow.... A name change wont change the fact that "Xbox Live Free" sucks. All this does is even more anger their free members and in effect they move to PS3

So, it looks like they listened to the fans, and have given them something to think about. ;)
