parts of it.
damn, now i have to move my couches around to fit the X1 horizontally.
kingoflife9
i'd have to buy a new house so i'm not going to get one.
If it's not airflow related...chewing on discs is confirmed to be back?...sound like a rushed console...again...
I wouldn't stack things on any consoles. That is a good way to make them overheat. How have the lems been owned? I don't get it?
I find this a little disappointing, I usually have my consoles all vertical, but that said, the X1 is far chunkier and looks more at home being horizontal this time, and is such a shape that I will be able to stack stuff on it anyway.

[QUOTE="APiranhaAteMyVa"]Lol at lems who thought the smaller design of the PS4 would make it problematic. The Xbone can't even be put vertically showing their shoddy design and build quality, enjoy another gen of scratched disk and RROD lems. At least this time the superior quality of the Sony designed Bluray disk will be more scratch resistant. Thank you Sony for supplying Microsoft with some quality for their shoddy console.JohnF111Xbox One is Blu Ray as well.......

umm...why? :?
You can't place the Xbone vertically because it is slot loaded even though the PS3 and PS4 are also slot loaded and can be placed vertically. :P XBone fragile confirmed. it likely isn't fragile they just don't want to support vertical style. I think too many people knocked over their 360You're paying $100 more, weaker by %50 and it can't even stand vertically. X1 is done, R.I.P.I don't see the problem really, this is nitpicking tbh. The console was designed to sit horizontally. Not being able to stand vertically is the LEAST of its "problems".

Panello revealed to GameSpot at the Tokyo Game Show, "We don't support vertical orientation; do it at your own risk." He clarified that "it wouldn't be a cooling problem, we just didn't design the drive for vertical. Because it's a slot loading drive, we just didn't design it for both".
The Xbox One isn't the only system to feature a slot loading drive; both the PlayStation 3--original and slim models--and PlayStation 4 have a similar design, and users are free to orient those consoles horizontally or vertically without risking damage to the console.
Panello stated that Microsoft discovered that "we found, interestingly enough, that 80 percent of people, believe it or not, have their Xbox [360] horizontally".
The Xbox One is scheduled for launch in North America, most European markets, Australia, and New Zealand on November 22 this year, with follow-up releases in Japan and the remaining European markets in 2014.Kaz_SonÂ

 TLHBO. XBone is a fragile disc scratching POS confirmed
Are you stupid or what?
I never put my game consoles vertical, hence I've never had any issues with my disks being scratched on any Xbox system. Same goes for the Playstation systems. Well the PS1 had to be put vertical and upside down, so I did get a few scratches with that system, but it didn't kill any of my disks thankfully.
I believe Microsoft gave this same warning with the Xbox 360 system. Said it wouldn't be wise to put the console vertical, because if you bumped it while a disk was spinning it could be scratched. My son's friend did this like an idiot and accidentally knocked his 360 over while the disk was spinning in it. The game got jammed in the system really bad. The DVD tray wouldn't even come out. Those fools opened the console up and you could see the game lodged in the drive. They got the Halo game out, but it was scratched to hell. I don't even know if the system still worked or not. I was laughing my @ss off though. Heed the warnings.

 Dat butthurt and tears.Â
PS2 and PS3 could be stood vertically, I don't know why you're bringing up the PS1, a system that launched almost 20 years ago lol. The XB1 is a fragile POS that scatches discs confirmed and not even your lame damage control can change that.
Maybe it just wasnt designed that way? I dont see the issue. PS3 and 360 were designed to stand up but they were extremely fragile while standing. How is this any different?navyguy21The 360 maybe but defintely not the PS3. I've had both a PS3 Phat and Slim since 2006 and 2011 respectively and I stood them vertically with no problems. No one I knew complained about their PS3's scratching discs or acting funny when stood vertically.
Still have a working 360 from dec 2005 that has been placed horizontally and never got any problems with it other than the disc tray. Only morons would even attempt to put it vertically XxR3m1xInHDn3D
That's what I'm saying. The first 6 generations of game consoles were ALL Horizontal. Who the hell wants to put it vertical? I've never had an issues finding room for my game consoles to lay flat on a shelf or platform. I would never want this beast of a system to be vertical so it can tip over. Same with the PS4. Why would I out that system vertical so it can tip over?  It's just dumb. I never understood vertical stands. I guess the Wii was ok, but I even got rid of that stand as well.

No one I knew complained about their PS3's scratching discs or acting funny when stood vertically. The PS3 Phat was even more fragile than the original 360 when standing vertical because of how it was made. No need to be blind about it. The 360 has a concave shape so it stood better. Not saying the PS3 was crappy, just that they werent meant to stand on end. Sure, 360 scratched your discs if you had it vertical and if fell, but you deserved it imo, they shouldnt be stood up anyway.[QUOTE="navyguy21"]Maybe it just wasnt designed that way? XB1 clearly isnt built to stand vertically, that doesnt mean it is crap. Just means that MS has a different marketing vision. PS4 was designed to stand up as well. Nothing else to read into.

Dudem your a bias trolling cow. You keep embarrassing yourself every time you start a thread. This crap isn't even new. If you put a disc in the PS4 and have it vertical and it fall over on it's side, let me know if that disk doesn't get f*** up or not.
I never understood why people put their systems vertical to begin with.
In any case, as least M$ is telling people about it. Sony won't. They'll wait until someone f*** up their disk and then blame it on the user.
[QUOTE="locopatho"][QUOTE="Kaz_Son"]Debatable. The launch lineup for XB1 has been mediocre so far in my eyes. Forza is the only game that looks like it will be decent.Kaz_SonWill suck to miss Dead Rising 3 :(lol no. Dead Rising 3 looks mediocre.
Your dumb thread is mediocre.  :P

Where in the article did the MS rep say that it's okay to play games on XB1 vertically unless it falls on its side? He simply states not to play it vertically period because it will f*** your disc up.
