I think operating income is close to net income? In this case, MS entertainment divison had an operating income of $165 million, which means the net income from that divison is less but close to $165 million? Someone correct me if I am wrong.

They had 1.9 billion in revenue, but the net profit was 165 million. The EDD will surely make over 500 million for the next quarter and the EDD itself will probably start to amass net profit from here on out with production costs going down and 360 sales going up.

MS has lost something like 5 billion on the EDD over the last 6 years, but will probably make back a billion+ this next fiscal year.

Meanwhile Sony just lost nearly a billion on their gaming division for the last quarter. Ouch.

If you put this in context, it means that another MS console is inevitable, and it'll probably be their best.

Their gaming division has gone through everything bad this industry could possibly throw at it - shortages, shoddy hardware, scratched discs, overheating, aethetics, compatibility, next-gen media, etc... I think all these problems will be ironed out by next gen and they should deliver an awesome console.
