[QUOTE="stika"][QUOTE="Insane00"][QUOTE="stika"][QUOTE="Insane00"][QUOTE="stika"][QUOTE="Insane00"][QUOTE="bezaire2005"][QUOTE="Insane00"]Wow, only like 3 games on that list even remotely interest me. I find it amusing that Microsoft has the audacity to present a list of like 8 games, more than half of witch are mediocre or part of fan specific genres and then express the opinion that no one has ever released more quality games in a year. Wow, their stretching things aren't theyInsane00
meh...the world doesn't really revolve around what interests "you"....they obviously can't account for the opinions of everyone, especially people who generally don't like 360 basically just because they own another console instead.
You argue that it's just an opinion, but it's not like there is an abundance of facts available to prove him wrong.
Oh people and your hate, your reading into things. Is Blue Dragon Phenomenal? Or how about Viva Pinata, are you seriously gonna try to spout M$ game superiority with that game? That'd be like Sheep trying to convince me of their superiority with Nintendogs. Yes, Halo 3 is probably a great game, all the reviews I've seen lawd it. I'd like to play Bioshock, but I'm not gonna buy a 360 just to try it. And Mass Effect looks interesting, I'd like to play it, but no more so than Oblivion which I have gotten somewhat bored with. The rest either are mediocre or multiplat. And what if you aren't that enamered with FPS's and Western RPGs? Seems like then your just SOL, or you can play a mediocre game on their system. If I wanted to play a mediocre JRPG I could by Folklore or Enchated Arms, both mediocre games, but on the same level as Blue Dragon.
I'm not saying that this is horrible list, I'm just saying that it seems weird that M$ would make a press release about how 2007 on the 360 is the best year for games in the history of their existence, especially when even the people reporting it question the legitimacy of the statment by citing another great year in gaming, 2005. So, y'all can hate as much as you want, and pretend that I'm dissin' phenomenal games, or you can actually read my post and see that perhaps this sort of behavior from M$ isn't that much different than Sony spouting their propoganda about how many great games the ps3 has, which in reality is limited at best.
actually nintendogs and viva Pinata are great games that both nintendo and microsoft should be proud of, viva Pinata is one of the reasons i wanted a 360 (of course there´s the PC version now)
Yea, these games do for gaming what virtua pets did. I have watched my sister play Nintendogs and you'd learn a lot more by getting a real dog. I mean is this seriously entertainment? How long before they develop the UPS Guy game, or, hey kids, have fun at the washing dishes game, oh and here's a good one, pretend your at work with Data Entry Lite. Am a seriously the only gamer that wants to play games that let me escape from real life rather then lose myself in a simulation of real life. It's like playing the Sims instead of going outside and making real friends.
I didnt know YOU defined entertainment, i always thought that what i like to do was my entertainment, anyway nintendogs did as much for gaming as final fantasy 8 9 10 did or as much as virtua fighter 5, or as mich as metroid prime , or the 1000th mario kart created, or the 500th WOW expansion or all of those FPS that the 360 has, now that i think about it, nintendogs did more to gaming that those games all put together did... it helped to bring gaming in to the masses, something which quite frankly, i wouldnt mind to see more of
but hey, i guess that opinions are laws now a days... must´v slept during the anouncement of that one
Granted, if people want to entertain themselves with virtual versions of life, that is there prerogative. However, if this becomes the standard for new apps because publishers are trying to appeal to a mass market, then I will be done with games. I'm not saying these casual games are abysmal or poorly done, I'm saying they appeal to a different desire and mentality in gaming than that which gamers, save the most hardcore that refuse to experience real life, want to enjoy. GTA, Project Gotham, Halo, these games (which by all rights are quality games) allow gamers to experience something they never could otherwise. This is not the case with games such as Nintendogs. There may be a small fraction of the population that has a similar attitide towards these apps, buy as a general rule these games do little more than to continue to make people lazy and unwilling to really experience life. Cause why experience real life when you can play a pretend version without any of the responcibility or dire consequences.
Further, with America already dealing with an obesity issue, why do we want to promote people sitting on their butts rather than having a real dog, to really take for a walk, and get real exercise.
Right this very instant you could be playing a sport rather then posting on a PC, you could read a book and actually learn something instead of playing Devil may cry, you could go out with your friends instead of staying of doing any of these things, it doesnt change a thing, its not just games its everything, you would have to ban casual games, TV´s, PC´s listening music in your bed had to be banned, only if all in door activities would suddenly cease would the obesity problem be solved its that simple and your blowing this whole thing out of proportion
No I can't I'm at work, and today after work, I will go train for an hour in Martial arts, I will study a foreign language for an hour, I will write, I will play my real guitar, and I will read all between 4 and 10 tonight. Oh wait, I also have to drive for an hour and eat. So yea, I don't think I have an issue with being active.
no you dont, but you have an issue with being inactive, which is something every person has a right to if they prefer petting a virtual dog... hey its their loss and thats final, some people play games for the kick of it but not to escape reality, otherwise why would they realistic games sell? why would sims be one of the most profitable franchises?
